I dont know if this topic would really go on this board...but here it is anyway.

How many of you have written a celebrity? If you have, who was it? How long was your letter? Did they respond?

Just wondering.....

I wrote Roseanne Barr a short letter in January 2005, and she didn't respond.

I might write to Will Smith and ask him some questions about The Fresh Prince of Belair. :cool:

Last year I wrote Sherwood Schwartz (the creator of Gilligan and The Brady Bunch), and I got a 2 page letter back from him in a little less than three months. He answered all of my questions I had for him. He also sent me 5 autographed pictures. I sent him a thank you letter for the pictures and he even wrote me back again. Sherwood Schwartz is such a great person.

It's actually common for that to happen. I am still waiting on the first letter I ever sent to Carol Burnett (I have sent her three letters). Guess when I sent out the first letter?

I did get my two other letters back, though...The third took a month (January 2004 - February 2004) and the second one took a year (September 2003 - September 2004). So I wouldn't despair... Just be patient. :)

I wrote Nancy McKeon a few years ago when I was like a die hard fan...I grew out of it...and she sent me an autographed picture.

Im also thinking about writing another celeb, but I dunno if I should....I should send it...its like a 5 page letter...so it should be sent...but I dunno if she would want to read something that long. I dont think I'd blame her! LoL

I wrote to Weird AL asking to autograph my copy of Babalu Music and never heard from him :grr:

I've written to tons and tons of celebrities since 1998 and none of them have ever written back. That doesn't help much, but just had to get that out! :lol:

The only two celebrities I ever wrote to were Jami Gertz (in 1990) and Nicole deBoer (in 1999) and they were both kind enough to send me autograph pictures...which neither of them does anymore. I also have an autographed picture of Kylie Minogue from when I met her in 1988. I am hoping to one day get autograph pictures of Terry Farrell and Jennifer Beals.:)

I've written to Mary Tyler Moore a couple times. She always sends autographs. I wrote to Valerie Harper, too (I've also met her, she's really sweet!). Betty White is really great about autographs, you don't even need a SASE.

I emailed Linda Purl (Ashley on Happy Days)praising her for her role in the mini-series "Testimony Of Two Men" and I got a very cordial response. I also emailed singer Ricky Nelson's ex wife Kristin Nelson Tinker(who is an artist) telling her how much I enjoyed her autobiography and her art and to ask her a question . Believe it or not she emailed me back in less than an hour! She was gracious and answered my question.
