And let's not forget Seattle punk legends, The Fartz!! Yep, Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan used to play with them. They used to spell their name with the red "A" with a circle symbol (stands for anarchy) in their logo, so when their name was printed in the local mags, they were spelled "The F@rtz". :fart:
Steve M. 10-16-2005, 09:05 PM Some would vote for the Band.
How 'bout this one - "Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Micky andf Tich!" That's an actual sixties British group from Wiltshire that , for obvious reasons, never made it in the States.

musicradio77 10-26-2005, 10:57 PM What about Johnny Maestro & the Brooklyn Bridge?
Steve M. 10-30-2005, 09:57 PM There's also Badly Drawn Boy and Death Cab for Cutie.
A lot of 80's "alternative" bands like Love and Rockets had dumb names.
ABlairican Pie 10-31-2005, 01:54 AM There's also Badly Drawn Boy and Death Cab for Cutie.
A lot of 80's "alternative" bands like Love and Rockets had dumb names.Death Cab For Cutie are a local alternative pop band that's kind of local here in Washington.
The name Love and Rockets were named after a comic book. I thought Johnny Hates Jazz was a lame name. I'm not fond of band names that are more like sentences, like And You Will Know Us By the Trail of the Dead.

ABlairican Pie 11-13-2005, 02:53 PM My bands name is The Outer Limit...What do you guys think of that name? It's cool because not only was it a great show on t.v. in the 60's and 90's, but because Canadian metal band Voivod did an album of the same name in 1993.
Pug Lover 11-13-2005, 10:23 PM I was browsing through the cassettes at a thrift store and I saw a tape, and the band's name was called The The. THE THE? What the hell kind of band name is that? One of the worst band names.

THE THE!!!!!
Obviously you guys have never heard of them, they're very good. A band's name doesn't have to make sense.
But, as Derek Smalls of Spinal Tap has said, "There's a fine line between clever and stupid."
By the way, anyone heard of the legendary British band of the 60's, Polka Tulk?
