NEW YORK (AP) -- What would Bob Saget say about this? Mary-Kate Olsen, who shared the role of Michelle Tanner with her twin sister, Ashley, on the '80s comedy "Full House," has left college - at least for now - early in her sophomore year.

"Mary-Kate Olsen has not dropped out, she has simply taken an approved leave of absence to devote more of her time and energy to her business," Olsen's publicist, Michael Pagnotta, told The Associated Press.

The 19-year-old actress' decision to take the leave of absence was reported Friday by People magazine on its Web site.

Mary-Kate wants "to focus on her increasing responsibilities as co-president of Dualstar Entertainment Group and to pursue personal interests," the magazine quoted Pagnotta as saying.

Ashley, also co-president of Dualstar, remains at NYU.

Mary-Kate spent six weeks at a treatment center for an eating disorder in summer 2004.

Since starting out as babies on "Full House" - Saget played their father - the twins have created a multimedia empire with a clothing line, feature films, direct-to-video movies and other merchandise.

Mary-Kate, a brunette, and Ashley, who is blond, became co-presidents of Dualstar when they turned 18. Each is estimated to be worth more than $150 million.

I read that in the newspaper Saturday. I think the family wants to keep an eye on her for now. I know in a magazine that I got couple of weeks ago she has been getting in trouble latey with her family and Ashley has seen her and her boyfriend that they aren't post to. They won't say anything right now. So I think they want to keep it Pravite. I know they kept her "rehab" thing a secret for a while before going public. So I think the going back to "L.A. for Business" is a cover up. I have been a HUGE fan of the Olsens for a long time. I know I can sense something going on. Something isn't right.

Well, didn't they relocate their offices to NYC? ...so if she was really going back to work she'd still be in NYC, not LA. We'll see ;)

...It may be that her family wants to keep an eye on her...but it could also be that she didn't like college and she wanted to drop out. I mean, they don't HAVE to go to college in order to make a decent living like the rest of us. She probably just thought that she'd rather be working with the business for now. Which is a smart move I think because they're slowly disappearing. It's been over a year since they've done anything. But I'm sure this doesn't mean we'll be seeing them act anytime soon I'm sure...if at all, it will probably be a few years if it does happen. And that will be when Ashley is done with school...and Mary-Kate hasn't seemed too interested in returning from the things I've read.

Only time will tell.

Not surprising, in fact, I expected to hear about one of them leaving.

Judging by the amount of times the Olsen girls were reported hanging out in the hip NYC clubs, it looks like neithter of them were really into thier studies at NYU.

It's not 'stupid' too be anorexic. You don't *choose* to be it, you just *are*. It's a disorder, a mental disorder. An illness.
