Oh, I love that movie!! Iv'e probably seen it atleast 10 times. My favorite story is the first one, about that racist white guy, who gets what he deserves, and has to experience the racism that many Jews, and blacks have had to deal with in their lives. That one has such a creepy ending, and always freaks me out. I also like the one where Kathleen Quinlan is invited to that little boys birthday party, and has to deal with his weird family. I remember how shocked I was when I found out his big sister was the girl who does the voice for Bart Simpson. LOL!! CliffClavin 10-19-2005, 10:58 AM The Hithhikers Guide To The Galaxy - I think that "Hitchhikers..." is wonderful adaptation of Douglas Adams' terrific stories. If you’re a fan, you will love it. If you’re not, you may not like it. I am a huge fan...so I loved it. I know that some of the changes attracted criticism from fans on various Internet message boards but the makers of the film have pointed out that all the changes originated from Adams himself. Good acting!! I just watched Sideways too. Out of pure boredom, but the movie was HILARIOUS!!!!! Hey, did u see in the first fifteen minutes they show my city, Oxnard!!!??? They even showed the name on the screen. Yeah!!!! They filmed on Highway One. OMG, I love this movie it was awesome. Then right after that, I watched MONSTER with Charlize Theron. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE. Charlize captured Aileen Wournos EXACTLY. Her mannerisms, her features, her talk, her style. I swear, I felt like I was watching the real person. This, to me, is the best performance by any female EVER. it is intense, it is brutal, it's real. That couldn't be acting. It was the best performance. She deserved that Oscar. I have on demand, so I'll just fast forward to that part, and see where you live. That's so cool that your town is in the movie!! Believe it or not, you actually came to my mind once while watching. During the sex scene with that lady, and that big barbarian looking guy, I thought about your post about the worse things to hear while having sex. I was trying to come up with one for that scene, but couldn't. Anyway, I just went with my mom to the movies, and saw The Gospel. I wanted to see it now because it's only in about 7000 theatres, and probably won't be around for long. I thought it was a real good movie, and like I said, the music was awesome. I posted up a thread about this movie a few days ago, so if you'd like to know more about it, you check it out!! Brad Russ 10-20-2005, 06:17 AM Oh by the way Irene, I saw Monster when it came out a couple years ago, and you are right, it was an amazing movie. As you're watching, it's hard to believe that that really happened, but it did. Charlize Theron definitely deserved her academy award for her role. Had I not known before hand, I'd have never guessed that that was her. She did a phenomenal job!! Ireneparalegal 10-20-2005, 12:07 PM No, I missed that. That scene was sooooo damn funny. Hilarious, goofy, it had me laughing my you know what off!!!! LOL Yeah, Monster, it is an awesome movie. I went out and bought the DVD the next day. I wanted my boyfriend to see the movie. He gets home late from work, so maybe on his day off he and I can watch it. I just find this movie so remarkable in that it is frightening, yet real. It is such a shame that a young girl was treated like trash. And it apparently affected her life later on. What a waste of a life. Awesome movie. I remember seeing the promotions for the movie and it looked like it was going to be really gory. I guess parts of it were gory, but I've seen much worse. It's definitely not a movie that one would take seriously. I can understand why some people would hate it. The Chauffeur 11-03-2005, 08:21 PM I really don't think that's what they were going for at all. I thought they could have done a better job at introducing us to the characters throughout the movie, but other than that I thought it was well done. I don't think that they were going for that either, but the ending seemed so unresolved that whatever they were going for seemed lost, but that's just my opinion. It just seemed the worst possible ending for a movie addressing that sort of problem. Nothing in it seemed to show this is what happens to you if you engage in this type of situation. Anyone who tried to be a hero in the situation was either killed or lost in the story. HuntingtonM15 11-03-2005, 08:41 PM I don't think that they were going for that either, but the ending seemed so unresolved that whatever they were going for seemed lost, but that's just my opinion. It just seemed the worst possible ending for a movie addressing that sort of problem. Nothing in it seemed to show this is what happens to you if you engage in this type of situation. Anyone who tried to be a hero in the situation was either killed or lost in the story. Well, that is what I got out of it, and I don't really see what else they could have been trying to show. They obviously aren't going to be glorifying that type of situation. I think the ending especially was supposed to awaken the audience to the situation. I don't think it needed to show what would happen. I think that's more than implied. Have you seen Home Room? While I liked this one, I liked Home Room a lot more. The Chauffeur 11-04-2005, 12:30 AM Well, that is what I got out of it, and I don't really see what else they could have been trying to show. They obviously aren't going to be glorifying that type of situation. I think the ending especially was supposed to awaken the audience to the situation. I don't think it needed to show what would happen. I think that's more than implied. Have you seen Home Room? While I liked this one, I liked Home Room a lot more. I haven't seen Home Room, I've heard of it but that's about it. I only watched this movie because it was on Demand. I'll keep an eye out for it, maybe I'll like this one better as well.:) Brad Russ 11-04-2005, 01:35 AM Elephant...hated it  I couldn't even get through that movie. I watched about 15 minutes of it, and had to fast forward through the rest. It seemed like all it was, was an hour and a half of kids walking up and down school hallways. It had about as much entertainment value as watching paint dry. Anyway, the last movie I watched was Remember The Titans. I enjoyed it.
