How much bad luck can you get? As gullible as Bookman was, why would JJ ask him to bring his painting down to the exhibit? You really can't blame Bookman. Why would they be in two separate places and why would JJ rely on Bookman, of all people. I guess "Buffalo Butt" wasn't a bad guy after all, when they need something.
It was the wrong painting?? Does anything ever go right with this family?

In the later seasons, they dumbed down Bookman to make him a more likeable character.

I haven't seen this episode in years, but wasn't it one of Bookman's helpers that got the wrong painting?

yeah, that's the way it was, when they needed something, they were all nice, like the Waltons. But then there they were being rude and crude when they didn't need him.
