Just because JJ couldn't answer those questions doesn't mean he didn't learn anything. Which is what Flo said to James. How many times after a test in school did you forget what you just learned? I could take a test and then forget abt some war or battle or what year what took place.

I know that the school was bumping JJ forward, but still, based on three questions, you can't tell whether your child is learning or not.

oh yeah, i know too, i was absent alot from this particular class and yet I got an "A". When my dad say my report card (in high school) all he asked me was why did I have 40 something absences????? LOL
I said, "Dad, look at the "A" and three "B"s I got!!!!!:lol:

It might not have convinced her that JJ was just getting by, but it sure sends up a red flag.

Ahhh, playing hookey. Don't get me started.:D I also missed days (and had fun doing whatever I was up to). Even made F's. However, I made good grades most times, if I was focused and not wanting to have fun.

And besides, JJ receive five C's and an A in Art. I would've taken that anytime. How did James and Florida say it:

Florida:"I'll settle for the middle".

James: "I'll settle for the end of the line".

Also, it was unrealistic for a parent to ask their child questions, then threaten to go down to the school. The parents will probably tell a child to chill out on video games until you improve your C's.:lol:

I think Florida and James found it odd that JJ passed all of his classes but failed on his finals, that just doesn't add up to anyone. Especially if you've been failing the whole year. And if you were in high school and you were in English you should know what a dangling participle is, you shouldn't have to think about it like JJ did LOL. Don't you go over the stuff that's on the Exam's like a week or so before the test, JJ was just lazy in school. But that was a funny scene.

the way the sentence is structured Craftman, it sounds like the tree was doing the walking. There is no subject (person, place or thing in the beginning of the sentence)
