A few updates-to some of those involved in recent situations on Sitcoms

After pulling my hair out on many users, such as users being banned, and then creating new accounts on. sitcoms.
Contniously going after various members, and various other issues- I took the older emails one in particular wrote to me and contacted the ISP carrier for all 3 IP address he had issued them through
Under internet stalking and harrasment issues particulary.

Both Hotmail and Yahoo, dropped 4 accounts, and banned those IP from their sites- making them unable to use 2 of the most common free carriers.

I have gone through sitcoms painstakingly and with the help of Eric many have been banned. For various similar behaviour- and have removed 109 retail trading posts, and 34 bootleg movie post.

I have posted several pots, on the ammended rule on Sitcoms, one stating that retail is just that, RETAIL and this does includes retail games.
Not just retail movies, but for those listing retail games and retail items such as electronics.
And have now begun weeding through for bootleg movies, move theater recordings, and other highly strictly violated MPAA infringment items. Such as concerts.

I can't read every post, it would take hours. So I would appreciate any examples of the following violation of rules be forwarded to me or any other moderator and appreciate VERY much those who take the time to report such posts when the see them.

When you group a lot of people together, there are going to be bad traders. Traders who are deceptive and sometimes people who just don't care.

So I would like to outline a few things.

1-It is ILLEGAL and will not be tolerated to list bootleg movies- in any fashion, on Sitcomsonline.
I don't care if you work in the theater, I don't care if you are Mel Gibsons stunt devil for the passion of ugly kid joe the 7th.

2-You are allowed ONE account. If you have multiple emails for your convienience, fine. But you are allowed ONE account on Sitcoms.
If you have tired of your old name, CONTACT a moderator and we will help you change it/updated it/ammend it.

3-Retail banning means retail banning. Banning of movies, that are retail, games that are retail, retail being the key word.

I hope this winter can bring many fun trades, and I don't wnat to spoil anyone's trading by any means.

Please remember I, as well as many of the other moderators- MEDIATE as well.

I recently entered a mediation, in where a user was unhappy with the quality he recieved, and refused to send his end-
And was able to get each person their items, with a little bit of communication.
If a trade goes badly, dont' give up if you feel a resolve can be made. Sometimes an objective point of view is all that is needed.

I can't stress enough starting with smaller trades with new users. And how important communication is.

Are you new to trading? Here are some common questions, that if asked up front can save a world of trouble.

1-Who will send first (this is usually done by the newer trader, and or whomever initiated the trade.
2-What media is being used, BURNER Speed, and disc QUALITY is important to ask up front.
3-What method of shipping do you use?Media is cheaper, but if your other trader sends first class, this may lead to frustration.
4-Do they label their episodes, is the set complete, are there commercials? These are things you may not care about, but often times people assume on.

Trading is something the majority of us come here for- good conversation, the sharing of loved shows and old tv. BY following some common sense, and common rules it is normally a lot of fun.
But as in any hobby, you can be taken advantage of.

Check out some history of your trader. Have they traded before?
Not good trader will be insulted on a history check.

Have you checked the below link?
This has many of the more common and more recycled bad traders.

And the most important thing to follow is your gut. New or old, vetran on here, or other sites or not- If it sounds too good, it probably is.

Once you enter a trade, let us all know in the community how it went.
Give a pat on the back to someone who went the extra mile, or sent something extra fast.
We often times only complain if something goes wrong, and forget to mention when it goes right.

Thanks to everyone who contributes daily to all of these aspects- you make trading what it is supposed to be!

1. Does an old recording of a tv special fall into Concerts?

2. Do old 1930s -1950s movies fall into the bootleg movies?

Thanks
Tom

No.

When I say concerts, Someone was recently posting camcorder bootlegs of U2 concerts, this years-

I should have better defined.

Concerts that have been aired, published or televised- are not the same thing.
If you can catch Marillion in concert, and wnat to trade for acdc, all the power to you.

I am talking about "bootlegs" in which people sneak cameras in- and record illegally.

As far as movie bootlegs-there is a flourish of people lately, taking digitial cameras, and even their phones, - and hitting record while sitting in the movie theaters.
Another way, is theater staff, or movie staff putting a camera up, in the back of the theater.

These are very illegal.

And the MPAA really really really cracks down on these.

Older movies, older concerts are probalby close to public domain, and or have been publicized at some point-

What I am talking about is strictly capturing the images without any consent whatsoever.
