View Full Version : Willona & Cousin Raymond
Ireneparalegal 10-12-2005, 09:50 PM I saw the episode last night and kept thinking to myself, why does she hit on this guy? She had a great opportunity with what's his name, the guy she wanted to marry before but his work takes him around the world. The guy who bought the boutique. Anyhow, it just seems wrong to have the character go after another rich guy, who doesn't seem to have as much going for him as did her former boyfriend.
Also Penny wasn't in the episode. Willona just acted like she was single again. No mention of her at all to Raymond. Who babysat Penny when they went out to dinner?
Florida, again pissed me off when she turned down an offer to help. I know it was crazy since he makes his $$$$ by gambling. It would have been better for the Evans to take the $$$$ instead of the house. They wouldn't be able to afford the house after the one years lease anyway. They could have the $$$ as a safety net; as a future downpayment on a house, etc. Once it went into her bank acct.
Also, why did they have to write another gambling episode??? How many times can we see this????

Irene Raymond wasn't rich, he was a Gambler-lol And FloridA Made the right decision by not taking the APT because it was too risky since Raymond was depending on HORSES to cross the Finish line-lol So if one of those Horses lost, The Evans would have been in a worst situation than they were before Raymond showed up.
Ireneparalegal 10-12-2005, 11:12 PM I know he wasn't rich, not like a real businessman, which is why I don't get why Willona was interested in him...it just seemed she wanted to hit on him and hoping to get more outta the relationship...I know it was risky too abt the house, that's why I don't understand why Flo didn't just take the $$$$$, look at what I posted...i said it was crazy for her to not take the help, NOT THE HOUSE...LOL

I agree that she should have took the Cash.
Brieannas21 10-12-2005, 11:41 PM Yeah Florida should have taken the money but she didn't like the where the money was coming from and how Raymond got the money.
I think Willona liked Raymond's looks and how suave he was, Just because you like someone doesn't mean that you would marry that person. It's ok for a single person to date. And Willona and Raymond didn't even go out on a date so why would she tell him about Penny?? If your a single woman or man it's always good to have some company of the opposite sex, that doesn't mean that you have to marry that person or sleep with them.
And Penny could have been at a friends, the girl did have friends.

I thought about that too. I didn't like how Willona was all up on Raymond. They made it look like she was desperate or something.
If you talking about the money he gave Flo for the first months rent or down payment or what ever it was, Flo didn't keep that money cause she knew Raymond's time was gonna come when he lost his shirt at the track. She was just looking out for her cousin. He was nice enough to try and help her out with his money so she did the same thing in giving him his money back to help him out. That would have been pretty selfish if she had kept the money and he came back broke and she said "Oh well, too bad, you gave me that money, I ain't giving it back."
nerrad 10-13-2005, 08:15 AM "When Raymond Brown comes to town, he knows how to get down".
"God, give me strength".
The funny part was the look on Raymond's face after he returned from track. I just knew something was wrong. He was happy as a clam earlier.
TVFactFan 10-13-2005, 09:36 AM also what the hell was a POOKIE POO?-lol
GARFIELDKOOL 10-13-2005, 10:40 AM Ironically, Calvin Lockhart played in "Let's Do It Again" with Sidney Poiter and Bill Cosby. John Amos and Jimmie Walker was in it too. I think most of ya'll knew that. Lockhart's role was ganster Biggie Smalls. His gang rivaled John Amos's who played Kansa City Mack. The guy who played Ben Foster in season 4 "Florida's Night Out" was in Amos's gang.
But Lockhart was better as "Silky Slim" In "Uptown Saturday Night" to me.

Thank u for making sense of my thread. You put it best by saying Willona was all up on Raymond. Exactly. she looked too damn desperate. As if she was trying to get a man, keep him, and hook him in!!! Kool, u always seem to figure out what it is I mean.
BTW, your other post said something abt a character he played: Biggie Smalls, is this where Notorious B.I.G. got this other nickname? Just wondering.
You are right abt the $$$ thing. Flo was doing the right thing. She knew Raymond's luck would run out and he would eventually need the money.
Brian Damage 10-13-2005, 11:05 AM Willona just found him attractive, she wasn't jumping his bones or anything. Besides, she wasn't attracted to him because of his money.
