View Full Version : "Like Hell"
sweetdiggity 10-09-2005, 01:51 PM Hi, everyone. Did anybody see the previews for tomorrows episode? it looks like it will be funny, then again all episode are funny to me. I LOVE this show. I just watched "The Schmenkmans" episode. I love that one especially when Arthur says "Sweet diggity are you ignorant!" He cracks me up.
HuntingtonM15 10-10-2005, 11:08 PM What did everyone think of tonight's episode? I really liked it. I thought it was hilarious from the opening scene.
glenny 10-11-2005, 06:08 AM All in all it was pretty good. It looks like however we are back to Doug and Carrie against the world again. They were both back to being mean again.
Carrie was downright evil. It was pretty funny though.
It was o.k. I really don't like the mean-spiritedness of Doug and Carrie, and it took away from this week's episode for me. Just decent, IMHO.:)
caladon 10-20-2005, 03:15 PM Usually as a sitcom progresses, the character have a tendency to grow. However, I've noticed in this new season that the character's of Carrie and Doug appear to be regressing. The character of Carrie is a nasty, mean spirited me, me, me person and the character of Doug is showing that his social development has regressed to that of a spoiled pre-teen. Fortunately the supporting characters tend to draw attention away from these two. Let's hope the writer's get back on track and bring the two main characters back to a more likeable degree.

This is nothing new. It's been going on since season 5/6.
caladon 10-20-2005, 03:32 PM I know, but it's been getting worse with each season.

I don't think it's gotten any worse at all. Some episodes of last season got a bit better with that, but this season is definitely not worse than some of the stuff we have seen before.

IA 100%. To me it started getting real bad around Season 6 and, with a few exceptions, has gotten worse since then. I really liked the season premiere and the second show, but it's been downhill for me since then. I haven't laughed at anything in the last three shows. Trying to convince Holly that her boyfriend is lousy because she is jealous? Doug putting Deacon's name down to work the same day of his son's birthday becasue he's mad at him that the restaurant they go to named a sandwich after Deacon and not him? I just don't find all this selfishness and mean-spiritedness funny at all. I also think that is part of the reason that the ratings suffered last year, along side the constant time changes and delays. The show has regressed in quality.
seven_to_shea 10-22-2005, 01:52 AM I'm close to giving up, the quality has not been good and I don't really know what to make of Doug/Carrie [or Kevin/Leah for that matter] now. I agree with the above poster that they're just obnoxious now. There's no real reason for me to watch anymore.

The only reason i like to watch now is for Arthur and Spence.

My thoughts exactly.
I just don't understand it - can't ANYONE involved with the show see how bad it is, and how mean and obnoxious Doug and Carrie have become? Doug was always a little immature, and Carrie was kinda tough, but it was funny because they were both good people inside. Now they're horrible, mean, selfish people and I can't stand to watch anymore.
