They stopped airing it last year. They lost the rights to it. They could lease a season and air that one, but they can't just air multiple ones in a row, example 1983-1989. Just only one season in particular. Example, like for awhile they just kept airing 1988-89 eps.

With the exceptions of four episodes on the trading circuit, two in the Museum of TV & Radio, and a clips of Woolery's final episode, the Original 1975-81 pretty much no longer exists. This is pretty much due to the fact of the mostly shoddy practices of erasing/destroying video tapes of shows. Some shows are also reported to be simply lost.

Here's what is known to be in existence...

the 1974 pilot hosted by Edd "Kooky" Byrnes (clips of this were seen on Wheel's 3000th show in 1998)
the 1975 premiere (MOTR)
a 1976 episode (MOTR)
two episodes from 1978; one of the contestants, Scott Hostetler, recorded those episodes, and they are now in the trading circuit
two episodes from 1980 - one has Tom Kennedy playing (in the trading circuit)
clips of Chuck Woolery's last Wheel show (trading circuit)
