The first comprehensive biography of Agnes Moorehead is out and I'm the author. It is my first book and it's based on research conducted at the State Historical Society of Wisconsin which holds 159 boxes of Agnes' personal papers. I also used never before published quotes from letters Agnes wrote to her secretary Georgia Johnstone. The book includes the remembrances of such friends and co-workers as Debbie Reynolds, Jane Wyman, Karl Malden, Bernard Fox, Mrs. Dick York, William Asher, Kasey Rogers, Carol Lynley, Rose Marie, Joan Fontaine, Norman Corwin, Nanette Fabray, Richard Anderson, Himan Brown, Herbie J Pilato and more.

The book is also available on Amazon.Com
It is the story of the "PK" (Preacher's Kid) who grew up to be one of the most distinguished and honored actresses of her time. It is 428 pages and includes many photographs. It retails at $19.99 (on the publishers site) but can be bought for $13.57 on Amazon.

I did read the book and enjoyed it very much!! AM/Endora always reminded me of my grandmother with the deep voice and twinkling blue eyes. This book is a wonderful tribute and I enjoyed learning about her early life as well. Good job! :clap

I'll have to pick up the book. I really liked Agnes Moorehead and would like to see her old movies. She is in one with Lucy called, The Big Street. When I was a kid I seen her in a movie where she played a prison Warden and Mary Wicks played the mean prison guard.

I went to look on Amazon and they had two used ones for $58 and $89! Yikes. Will you be selling this on ebay or somewhere else?

Try checking Amazon and see if you can get a used copy, so it won't cost as much. It really is a fascinating book.

At our public library if they don't have the book you're looking for, they can borrow it from another library in the state. You could ask if they offer that service at your library.

Our library you can only borrow thru the county not the state. Our on line library website lists what books/tapes/dvd/cd the county has- no one has it.

Yes, the second edition of the Agnes Moorehead book is now out on Amazon. The first edition did temporarily go out of print which is why some people were asking a huge price for it. The second edition is $24.95. It can be found on both Amazon and BN.com--if you want the second edition just write "I love the Illusion, second edition".
The book can also be gotten on the publishers website:
