View Full Version : Breaking Bonaduce...
Ireneparalegal 10-04-2005, 09:13 PM do you watch this???? It's about Danny Bonaduce and his relationship with his wife. They are both in therapy and dealing with major issues in their marriage. Danny being honest abt an affair he had. His wife dealing with the aftermath and trying to deal with Danny and his drinking.
An 80s Guy 10-05-2005, 07:14 PM i kinda like it next weeks episode look pretty good
Kazza 10-08-2005, 03:36 PM I watch it every now and then. Danny sure has a lot of anger issues; I had no idea he had 3 black belts in karate

his main issue though is alcohol. everything else is just a symptom of that. Once he can get sober, stay sober, than he can clearly see things better and work on those issues. I really hope they work things out. Danny's fear is that his wife will find out during therapy that she doesn't really love Danny anymore.
An 80s Guy 10-08-2005, 09:10 PM yeah i think they will work everything out though

It is so sad. Yeah, I don't blame her either.
Kazza 10-08-2005, 09:34 PM Been there done that! There's just so much you can take when alcohol is in between two people

Been there too...glad and happy to say I USED to be there. Alcohol ruins so many families.
As far as last night's episode, it kinda upset me to see Gretchen having a party with male strippers. She doesn't want Danny around strippers because of the temptations and the other things that can go wrong, but if she is to support her husband then she shouldn't be doing those things either. Gretchen of course won't cheat on her husband with a stripper, but one of his problems is anger, and anger that is fueled by jealousy. Why would she want to antagonize this already rocky situation?
Danny also has a drinking problem, which is the real problem, everything else is a symptom. However, Gretchen wouldn't have a party with drinking allowed around him, so why go and have strippers when you don't want your husband to be around that element? It doesn't make sense. It was easy to figure out what Danny's reaction was going to be...Well, if you can have strippers then can I go to a nude bar? He is so far from getting well.
The Chauffeur 10-10-2005, 03:11 PM The thing about Danny that pisses me off is that he uses his illness as a weapon. He does all of it because he gets a reaction. Their whole relationship seems based on HIS manipulation. It's sick! Do you really think he tried to kill himself? Nope. Did you see the cut on his wrist? Not a cut from someone who really wanted to do it, more so from someone who wanted to reap the attention from it. The jerk needs to grow up, stop being a spoiled brat and let his family move on to a more stable life without him. If nothing else, Gretchen needs to take advantage of the footage that she has from the show and take him for everything he has, she deserves it for everything he's putting her and their kids through!

hmmmmm...interesting...true.
Eddie Haskell 10-13-2005, 05:19 AM They said he attempted suicide.......I saw those cuts on his wrists and that was no attempt at suicide, that was nothing more than an attention getter. He handles situations in his life like an eight year old child. Then again, it's just a show and most of it is probably staged.
if it is real he needs help and he needs it now
Kazza 10-18-2005, 10:26 AM He finally put himself in rehab; it doesn't look like it will be a smooth ride
Mr. Stefani 10-29-2005, 04:00 PM I think this is the best reality show i've ever seen before. For once its some real ****. If you've ever lived/know an alocholic or someone with any of Dannys many problems you can't not watch it. I sit there in amazment everytime i watch it.

we are in agreement here TIM. I lived with an alcoholic (my ex-husband) and it is not a pretty life. You are right. This is real. The anger, the co-dependency, the jealousy, the outbursts, the irrational behavior. I am so glad for Al-Anon. I know more abt alcohol addiction and drug addiction than I ever cared to know. I now have compassion for those suffering from these. You are not dealing with the "real" person. They are totally a different person. Jekyll & Hyde.

Yep. Its the first reality show i can relate to. I grew up with an aloholic father and everything that he and his family are going through is what I saw and experienced. In that one episode when she was telling how their daughter broke down on her and told her she can fix her dad and make it okay, I had that exact conversation with my mom. Watching this has given me a whole different perspective on what my mom was going through as well. It's just crazy how dead on this is, i sit there every week in amazment. I've been reading how people are saying it's fake, and I can honestly say I believe this one. Sure maybe some stuff is added to, but you can't fake the emotions that they show them going through.
Ireneparalegal 11-23-2005, 01:07 AM Oh God, what is Danny thinking asking that girl "wanna go out?" and then meeting her at a place where there is alcohol, girls dancing and the girl he asked out is NOT WEARING ANY UNDERWEAR, while wearing a very light colored, skin-tight dress? He is searching for an apartment. He told the counselor that if Gretchen keeps telling him to find someone else, then HE SHOULD FIND SOMEONE ELSE. I can't believe this whole situation.
