There was also one about a girl who was abducted from a phone booth. I think her boyfriend tried to rescue her but the car transmission blew out when he threw it in reverse. I'm blanking on the names or other details. Probably in the midwest.

I actually just saw a case I'd never seen before. It was about a rapist in Sacramento who also committed murders and rapes in Orange County. How creepy.

The girl taken from the phone booth is mentioned here at least once a week. The fish on the back windshield was classic.

The Original Night Stalker case has never been featured on UM, has it?

I'm pretty sure that was supposed to be a joke. ;)

I wouldn't think so, as it was resolved before UM came into existence. There was, however, a story about the search for an informant who gave the police information which led to Ramirez's capture. The guy was due some reward money.

Yes it has. It's just that the killer wasn't referred to by that name in the UM segment (or at least, not that I recall).

The case has been mentioned on this board in the past. You just have to do some digging in order to find the thread.

Here's the profile:

Richard Ramierez was known as "The Night Stalker", and he struck in 1984 and 1985. There WAS another California serial killer with similar actions to Ramirez, and began killing in the late 1970s, a few years before Ramierez began his killing spree. Hence the name "The Original Night Stalker."
