View Full Version : Yankees win AL East
The New York Yankees have just won their 8th straight division title a few minutes ago. Congratulations to the Yankees and I hope they have a good run in the playoffs. After a horrible start, they finished real strong and are ready for the Indians/Angels.

hey it looks like you guys are still gonna get in.
and to be honest that should scare Yankees fans for obviuos reasons.
I think the Angels are the only team that will give the Yankees some worries. The Yankees proved they can beat the Sox, especially in Fenway. The Indians are good but they do not have the experience, and the White Sox are also good but White Sox fans should be concerned with their consistency. The Angels are probably the closest(all around) to the Yankees.

I think you're right. I believe we have a date in the ALCS with the Sox again.

Winning the AL East doesn't mean SH*T-lol You should know that from last year

It does this year. With all the injuries that put the pitching in shambles and the horrible first couple months they had, it looked most of the season that Boston had it locked up for sure.

The same could be said for all the other teams that make it to the post-season.

So if the Cleveland Indians make the playoffs and don't win the world series it's a unsuccessful season like it will be in the Yankees case? Is that what you are telling me on October 2, 2005????????????

You got 30 teams - only 8 of them make the playoffs. If any team makes the playoffs, they've had a successful season. It's hard to make it to the postseason in baseball, there's a lot of good teams out there this year.

The Yankees season will be a disappointment if they don't win the world series.
Even if the Indians don't win it all, they had a very successful season. This is a team where 2 years ago, they won 70 games. They made a few smart trades, some free agent signings, and some prospects helped the team. If you look at the Indians, they are a very young, but also very talented ballclub. Eric Wedge definitely should be manager of the year.
