Okay, a year ago Sony announced that ODAAT Season One was "coming soon". I keep hearing that "it is coming", "it is being released at the end of the year", "watch for it in 2006", and all kinds of other things.

If it just isn't coming out due to fear of poor sales I wish they would just say. Why doesn't Sony just say something like they don't expect this series to sell and will not be releasing it at all. At least that would be a courteous thing to say.

There could be some kind of rights issues, problems with tapes, etc, yet they can still release much more obscure series in the blink of an eye.

As I'm writing this I'm hoping the first season is already pressed and sitting in boxes at warehouses ready to get shipped. Maybe all we need is an official release date! :)

This situation would really have Ms. Romano going "Ohh Myyyy Gooodddd!!!

It will come out it has to. I'm still shocked that the show isn't in syndication still. What's wrong with all these networks the show was on for nine years. It was very good when it was on. Why are they putting us through this withdrawal? It's insane. They put Earth2 on DVD and that was only on for one season. The same with Freaks and Geeks.

I wish they would release seasons 1 & 2 together.

That would be best since Season 1 wasn't a full season. Oh I have a question that's been nagging at me. In the eps where Ed revealed he couldn't pay child support any longer? Why couldn't he? Does anyone remember?

I remember bits and pieces of it, there's very few that I remember clearly, and I probably didn't see the first couple of seasons till it went in syndication because I had to go to bed earlier than it came on it's it's first couple of seasons.

I liked an early early episode where Julie gets a job afterschool in the sleazy diner, and some pervert pinches her and makes her drop a big tray of food everywhere, and the gruff owner rips her a new one. I think it was witnessed by Ann, David, and Barbara when they came in to see how Julie was doing and Ann makes her quit. Maybe Julie quit and stormed out on her own. I can't remember.

I remember that one, and I think Ann made her quit I'm not sure.

As far as I remember....Ed couldn't pay all of his child support because his new girlfriend Vicki was an extra expense......

Luckily I have over 100 episodes in my collection, since I am starting to doubt we will ever see the show on DVD......

And if we do..... as I have also suggested in my longer previous posts after this long wait SEASONS 1 & 2 should be combined...season one is a short season and it really has a different feel than season 2 and beyond.....

I believe we won't get a DVD release until TV Land decides to run the show or not....since some executives feel TV exposure gives a series a better shot at selling........people enjoy the reruns than want to buy the series......

Oh my, if I were Ann I would rake him over the coals for that one.

In September '04 we received word that ODAAT was supposed to be coming soon on DVD. I think we got the reunion special in February '05, and it was supposed to have had extremely poor ratings. Does anybody think that put the nails in the coffin lid for any DVD releases?

I don't trust TV Land at all. I'm sorry, but I think they all full with a bunch of BS. They will put on a show, toy around with it by giving it a bad schedule, and then they yank it. They should call the network the Cheers and 3's Company Channel. They don't want to try to give a selection of shows unless sponsors pour in the big money. It is about making big $$$, not celebrating TV heritage...and their original shows suck. That's Viacom for you.
