Hi,
My wife was "Molly Webber" in the Brady Bunch episode "My Fair Opponent" She also reprised the role in the stage version in the 90's. (Her and Davy Jones were the only 'real' actors to reprise their roles) She also appeared in Green Acres, Family Affair, Adam12, FBI, Patty Duke, Bonanza, Dr. Kildare, Emergency, Ghost & Mrs. Muir, Dallas, etc. and many films as well. Just posting on here to see any responses to this episode. If you want to see her other episodes you can search Debi Storm at IMDB.COM. If you have any questions for her she would be happy to answer them. A little trivia: She was originally cast as Jan Brady until Sherwood Schwartz decided to go with all blondes.

Does she still walk around with books on top of her head? :D

That's really cool, thanks for posting here...

I knew that two sets of kids were cast for the boys' and girls' parts, depending on what color hair each parent would have... but this is the first time I've heard anything about any of the Brady kids that "might have been". Do you know anything about the other "almost Brady" kids? Any names we'd recognize?

Which of those shows did Debi enjoy working the most? I plan on getting all Green Acres DVDs, as well as Family Affair and the Patty Duke Show (if they're ever released). Hopefully her IMDB listing will tell us which episodes she was in...

And how long have the two of you been married? Did you have an acting career as well?

And finally, did you ever thank Marcia for turning Molly into the beautiful girl she turned out to be?

Thanks for posting Kirb!

HI Tweety and thanks for posting.....

Do you know anything about the other "almost Brady" kids? Any names we'd recognize?
No, But Debi may. She was also cast for the lead in "The Exorsist" (Linda Blair) But turned it down when she saw the premise of the movie.

Which of those shows did Debi enjoy working the most?
She just created a new screen name and will answer all your questions . . . BBUNCHMOLLY@AOL.COM My personal favorites are in "The Fugitive" with David Janzen and Suzanne Pleshette in "All The Scared Rabitts", "Eight on the Lam" with Bob Hope, Jonathon Winers, Phyllis Diller and in "I Spy" with Robert Culp and Bill Cosby.
Would love to find the Dr. Kildare episodes she was in.

Did you ever thank Marcia for turning Molly into the beautiful girl she turned out to be?
LOL, I SHOULD. becaise she is beautiful and the most wonderful and grounded person I have ever known.

Did you have an acting career as well?
No, I am behind the scenes . . . am a television director and own a wonderful BBQ restaurant in Orlando, FL (Porkie's Original BBQ) Sorry, had to plug the pig. . .

Thanks again for your reply Tweety

I thought you were going to say she's 5'3". She didn't look particularly tall on the Brady Bunch.

Hi to everyone: Sasha, Canman, hidoll, Riviera, Richard and Vegasgirl;

My Kirb, he is my biggest fan. My name is Debi Storm and I did play Molly on the Brady Bunch. I am amazed at how many people remember that particular episode. I did not do a role on Dark Shadows, but have been asked that before. I do not wear books on my head, but you should see me in the a.m. And p.s. thanks for giving Kirb the great idea, I got challenged last night. I am 5"9" almost, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have been a member of Screen Actors Guild for apprx. 40 years. Yes, I am old now. I live in Florida. I am very in love with my better half, Kirb. I have 4 children ages 23,21,10 and 9 (two boys, two girls). I was out of the industry for some time, raising my family. I was fortunate to work quite extensively as a child, but unfortunately do not have some of the copies of things I did, which Kirb is searching for. I can try to answer any questions, or email a photo of what I look like now. I can be reached at bbunchmolly@aol.com. Please be patient with the response as I do have a normal life just like you. My best to all, Debi

Thanks for responding to us, Debi.

How old were you when you played Molly on The Brady Bunch? I'm sure the crew tried to make you look homely, right? I assume you were really the nice looking girl. :)

Debi, I didn't realize you were in Emergency also. That was my favorite show in the 70s. Did you play the part of the older sister of a boy that causes an explosion in his home?

I became a BB fan when watching the show with my kids.

You are very welcome and I think you guys know more about me that I do. Yes I did do an episode of Emergency. I remember that in particular because of the fire they lit around us. The clothes that were the "cool" Molly were actually my own. I wish I could get my hands on that red white and blue vest. Lol. I think I still looked geeky with those wings for bangs. So much for styles. And I was 13 and in the 7th grade.

Oh, so you were actually a little younger than "Marcia" when you played Molly...so maybe you were kind of tall for your age. I remember that vests were big in the 70's. I had a lot of them too.

Debi - Thanks for posting. It's a real treat for us to have a "Brady Bunch" guest star participating here.

I'd love to hear your memories of appearing on "Family Affair", if you have the time.

That episode had my fav opening of any Bunch episode. All the music that is used during the first act as Marcia walks through the house in a mood was great and I loved her crossing out the happy face that Cindy drew.

The episode is also really good. A nice story. I think the third season had the best episodes overall.

Kirb, I'm assuming that your restaurant is the one listed in Apopka, correct?
We live a couple of hours from Orlando and go up there every few months... would love to check out 'the pig' if that's the right one...

Speaking of music, this ep seemed to have its own tune, for only this ep, where Marcia gave Molly her makeover. Very halting, woodwind notes, I only remember this tune from this particular ep.

Did they use the music from the My Fair Lady film?

Thanks for the pics. You were probably one of my first crushes as a child. There weren't very many red headed girls on television. I have auburn hair too. They never explained why you turned on Marcia the way you did. :)

I always wondered what became of you. It's very nice to hear from you and your husband today.

Ah, Rich - inflated egos after a bit of good fortune are a hallmark of "The Brady Bunch". It happened to Greg when Don Drysdale told him he was a good pitcher; to Marcia when she got the role of Juliet; to Peter when he saved that little girl in Driscoll's toy store; to Jan when she won the contest for "Most Popular Girl"; to Bobby when he became a school safety monitor; and to Cindy when she got on that TV quiz show. It was apparently a very popular story device with the Brady writers. So why shouldn't it have happened to Molly as well?

That does make sense. But it was different because the consequences were more serious and dramatic on this episode. In the other instances it was a lot more humorous in the results.

Debi,
Thanks for posting here and welcome. If you go to this page, http://www.sitcomsonline.com/pleasedonteatthedaisies.html and click on the link for video of first season closing credits, among the cast you can see "Debi Storm as Mary Margaret". Do you remember appearing on Please Don't Eat the Daisies? That was a fun show. I haven't seen it, at least not regularly, since a local station to me carried reruns weekday afternoons.

Oh no! I think Turner Classic just ran "Patch of Blue" within the last couple of days... I missed it :( (They were running a couple of Shelly Winters movies back to back, and that was one of them).
