Willona, J.J, Michael and Thelma all get together to get a new janitor in the building because of the way Bookman ignored their maintenance requests and then they get a new janitor who fixes eveything and then start feeling sorry for Bookman because he was out of a job. Then Willona begs Alderman davis to give him his job back, and as soon as Bookman is rehired, the Evans once again have maintenace problems. damm that was a dumb episode-lol

Absolutely right...no sense in that episode if you are going to keep the original character. Alot of other shows had a premise/plot like this where a character would almost leave and then the other characters had a change of heart. It's almost like writers shared plots with each other from various shows.

I think I read somewhere where scripts floated around so that other shows could get ideas or basically rehash them to suit their shows.
Anyone remember Mod Squad? There was an episode where Julie was shot accidently in the head by a young kid. Then, many many years later, the same exact premise/plot was used in Charlie's Angels. It was Jaclyn Smith's character who was shot. It was the same storyline, but two different shows.

I can't recall abt Mod Squad. As for Charlie's Angels, I don't think it was the final episode, but then again who knows. I just remember Kelly having a bandage on her head from being grazed by the bullet, the kid was walking around picking up different things on his "walk" such as a seashell. He was picking up things that matched items in a story that Kelly had told him. It was a fairy tale of sorts. When I watched this episode for the first time, I was like, "Hey, I know this story, I know what's going to happen." even though it was a first run episode. It was then I realized I had seen this before on Mod Squad. I was always bothered by the "rehashing" of stories like this.

I liked shows that drew a line in the middle of the floor. One housemate on one side. the other housemade stuck on the other. How many times was that rehashed?

my first time seeing the line draw thing was on I Love Lucy...he is a slob and she is trying to keep things neat as a pin. btw, how does that make sense: Neat as a pin? :lol:
