Just because you have an iPod doesn't mean you have to download from iTunes.

Stupid question - is iTunes free to download? If not, what is their fee? Also, is using iTunes ONLY limited if you ONLY have an iPod?

iTunes is free to download. The music store is mostly 99 cents a song. I don't think the songs will play on any player but and iPod, but you can burn CDs and files will play on the computer.

Oh, I see. Thanks for the explanation. I keep forgetting to ask until I saw this thread. Thanks again.

Basically you can use iTunes as a music player, similar to musicmatch also. Use it to rip, burn, download if you want. But you do need iTunes to putr music on the iPod. I think there are hacks around this, but otherwise you have to use it to get the music to the Pod (but you can use any MP3, not just the ones from the Apple music store).

Is Limewire safe, as far as not getting a virus? I used to use Kazza and i think it ruined my old computer.

I like it, but once in a while you won't see a song that you want. Their music catalog is still growing.
