I keep forgetting to ask until I saw this thread. Thanks again. Basically you can use iTunes as a music player, similar to musicmatch also. Use it to rip, burn, download if you want. But you do need iTunes to putr music on the iPod. I think there are hacks around this, but otherwise you have to use it to get the music to the Pod (but you can use any MP3, not just the ones from the Apple music store).
