I have the basic idea of this segment, but I need names, locations and an air date, if possible.

It involves a pickup truck in an intersection, with a motel key on the floor. The key opened a door and when the cops got in, there was blood everywhere. Missing person case I think, maybe murder. Could have been an old guy whos daughter was looking for him, or his killer. One of the first segments I saw and it was on NBC.

I'm hoping to see this one again, but I have no idea what other segments were on the original airing. I can't identify using the episode guide, I don't have enough details on the case.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks all

I have this story on tape but have no idea when it aired. His name was Don Smith and I believe he was on a cross country trip and decided to go visit his daughter. He went to the hospital where she worked but she was gone fishing with some friends. Her father had an unidentified black male companion with him. He later found her and her friends at a bar but was drunk and beligerent so his daughter got mad and left. (The companion was still with him.) She never saw him again. His remains were later found and he had been murdered. I'm not sure if it was before or after his body was found but his truck was involved in a hit and run (at an intersection according to the reenactment) and an unidentified black male was seen running from the truck. I believe they found a motel key in the truck and it led them to a hotel room where they found some bloody clothes. They're looking for the unidentified man but I have no idea if they've found him. Hope this helps.
