It really freaked me out. I went to the doctor and she wrote me a prescription for some pills and I had my voice back in a couple days. Pitooey 09-27-2005, 07:55 PM It took me 3 days to get over laryngitis. How i got it I will never know. Rest and drink plenty of fluids and gargel with salt water. I appreciate the input all of you have given me. it really is irritating. can't use the phone. :( 80sTrivia 09-27-2005, 08:11 PM I had a really bad case of laryngitis once. The doctor told me not to use my vocal chords at all... especially not to whisper, which actually puts more stress on the chords than speaking normally. I gargled with antiseptic mouthwash followed by lemon and honey water. Also took an aspirin to combat inflammation in my throat. It took a few days to completely recover.
