View Full Version : When you were younger did you ever...
Ireneparalegal 09-25-2005, 11:35 PM hate something about yourself, whether it was something physical or something you did or didn't do?
I used to hate my legs. I went to private school and we had to wear a skirt. Never pants. Rain, windy days, whatever, always had to wear that damn skirt. I wore those knee hi socks because I couldn't stand my skinny legs. NOW!!! I love my legs. I love them because when I wear shorts or a dress, I am always getting compliments (from guys of course) and it makes me remember how much I hated them. It's funny how something you thought negatively abt when you were younger, ends up being something positive.
I hated the fact that I was soooo shy. I wish I had been more outgoing. Of course, that's different now. I have no problem speaking in public, or going up to a guy and asking HIM TO DANCE (when I was single).
i hate hate hate my teeth- they are crooked and i have a huge gap. ive been asking for braces since i was 10 and i hate the fact that im soo awkward!
Hollow 09-26-2005, 12:23 AM i was about ten when i started to believe that i was put on the earth to be a loser. to put it briefly i hated everything about myself, mostly just how shy and dorky i was.

Join the club, Cathy. :(
Number 9 Dream 09-26-2005, 02:38 PM As a kid, I always hated my teeth. Thank god I got braces and that problem has been corrected :) I also disliked how short I was-- I'll always look so damned immature because of it!
Other than that, I hated being such an introvert...I still have problems with it, but it's not nearly as bad as it was when I was young.
*MIBabe03* 09-26-2005, 03:01 PM I hated how fat I used to be, thankfully that's all changed now. I also don't like being an introvert, but that's also gradually changing.
MsOrange 09-26-2005, 04:24 PM i hate the fact that I can never seem to loose weight/stick on a diet long enough to see any results... yea, I still hate that...
YoliUSA 09-26-2005, 04:44 PM I hated my teeth, but that is getting fixed now.
I also disliked being shy, even though I still am shy, but not as much as when I was 11-14.
Mijada 09-26-2005, 05:05 PM I've always hated my hair, my nose and my teeth.
Mr. Television 09-26-2005, 05:07 PM I've always hated being shy.
David 09-26-2005, 05:42 PM Not really a body part, but I used to hate my voice.
Tuesday Weld 09-26-2005, 05:47 PM Well, I really never had a lot of self-esteem about myself and a lot of that continues, now. But, I suppose there was a time when it was worse.
TheGreatPretender 09-26-2005, 08:23 PM Just everything about myself but mostly being overweight. It seems like no matter what I do I can't control it and the only way to make myself feel better is to binge and binge and binge. And it's only getting worse.
GARFIELDKOOL 09-26-2005, 08:43 PM People use to tease my eyes because they were big. I got called, POPeye and Garfield(inspired my username LOL) I hated that my eyes were big. after my first girlfriend told me she loved my eyes, I started liking the name Garfield.
KristinHerreraFan 09-26-2005, 09:25 PM I hated how I always tried to be so funny, but I was really stupid!

You know, isn't funny how when we are kids, little things like name-calling and teasing can make us feel so inferior, and yet, when you get older and a person of the opposite sex makes a positive comment abt something kids would make fun of, it can really change how you feel abt yourself. Stay Kool Garfield.

 kids used to make satire of my last name when i was little, and since our vocabularies have expanded and we know what the word refers to i get an assload of compliments for it. 'ass-kicker' could be a synonym to it.
Ireneparalegal 09-27-2005, 01:22 AM I went to private school for 8 years. We had the same class of students for all those years. Some exceptions of course, new students, some moved away, but basically it was like a family. Anyhow, there was this girl who was overweight and shy. She was my friend. We had a very small group of us girls who were friends. We weren't "cool" enough to be with the main group, but we didn't care. Anyhow, she had been teased and made fun of. Well, come September when 8th grade started, she came back to school A FOX!!! She had gone on a diet, lost alot of weight, changed her usual ponytail hairstyle. She was beautiful. As a matter of fact, we voted her as Best Looking Girl for our yearbook. We remained friends in high school. She and I went to public high school and she met a guy there. Eventually she moved away and ended up marrying some good-looking well-to-do guy who works in Washington. It goes to show that Karma can be a good thing to those who have been hurt.
crystals 09-28-2005, 02:52 PM I hated my wide cheekbones and still do. I'm not overweight, but my big cheekbones makes me look fatter than I am. To me, anyway. I used to hate my butt when I was in 6th grade. I was one of those early bloomers and I hated it for the longest time. I thought that my wide waist made me look fat.
Brad Russ 09-28-2005, 03:57 PM I use to hate the fact that I was so short. I'm only 5'6" tall. Iv'e basically come to terms with it now, but when I was younger, I hated it. I think my growth was stunted from weight lifting. Iv'e been the same height since I was 15, and I started weightlifting a year before that.
