It's going to be almost six months since I got my XM Satellite Radio. It is probably my best investment this year. I haven't had much time to listen to it recently, though, since I have a four-day school week.
Here is why I chose XM over Sirius:
At the time I got it, XM cost $9.99 a month but I got it just before it raised the price to $12.95. It's the same cost as Sirius right now if you are going for the one-year plan.
XM has more channels - more than 150 as opposed to the 120+ channels on Sirius
It has baseball, which is my favorite sport. If you prefer NBA and NFL, then Sirius is for you, since they are Sirius exclusives. This season XM and Sirius will share NHL broadcasts but it will be an XM exclusive in 2007.
It has some exclusives that aren't available on Sirius (Artist Confidential for example)
These are reasons why I chose XM, not the reasons why I think you should get it if you want a Satellite Radio.
I was originally going to get Sirius until I found out they don't carry baseball. I'm somewhat interested in NFL but I prefer Major League Baseball.
One thing that is a shame is that Dr. Demento has left XM some time ago. I've always wanted to listen to him but I didn't have the time. XM chose not to renew. I'm thinking he'll head to Sirius and I won't be surprised if he does.
I'm pretty sure someone is going to say Howard Stern. But I've never really been a fan of him. It isn't because I don't like him it's just that I have never been able to listen to his show. I tried to like his show but it isn't really for me.
