I certainly do. I'm not talking about recent episodes ( because, admit it, the show has declined recently ) but I don't recall there ever being a buzz about it when it debuted in 1998. The earlier episodes ( I'd say Seasons 1-4 are the best...just my opinion ) are so witty and reflects that decade perfectly. Definately my pick for best sitcom from the 90's ( to present day, of course ), along with Third Rock from the Sun.

I think it was underatted. It got noticed a lot in the 5th season which is my personal favorite, but after that the qaulity really went down.

I'm not sure that a show that's going into its 8th year can be considered underrated. It's had a lot of success and while it probably won't be remembered by most alongside Cheers, Friends, Seinfeld, etc., it's an amazing sitcom that I feel will be remembered fondly, crappy seasons aside.

I remember there was a buzz about it when the show began in late '98 amoung sitcom viewers and critics alike.Ratings were very healthy in its prime and syndication made it really huge.
If it's underrated now- deservedly so. I recently saw a re-run of an episode from season 1 on Fx and forgot how great the show used to be. I started to lose interest somewhere around season 5, and completely bailed by last season;didn't see one episode. The formula for the show wasn't built to last 8 seasons for obvious reasons: 1.)it was about the high school years 2.)the bulk of the show as far as location was built around Eric's parents house 3.)you can't sustain tension or interest in a relationship ( Eric and Donna) for 8 years.
However Seasons 1-3 are so good- really fresh and innovative television.
What killed the show was its success. It couldn't just end by season 4 because it was too popular, even though that would have been a perfect time to end it.

I think it's overrated. Not funny at all. Laura Prepon does get points for hotness, though.

I think the earlier seasons were underrated. It never seemed to get that much attention. It was such a funny show.

It was VERY underrated at one time. But as I've stated a few times here before the show as seriously declined in more recent seasons. Time goes by so damn fast I can't remember exactly when but as I recall once the original Laurie left the show it kind of tanked. I'm not saying that it was for THAT particular reason but it's a marker of sorts. So whatever the season that ended with Fez and Laurie getting "married" was probably the last good season.

I've been recently watching some older re-runs on FX and the show was terrific. The dynamic between Eric, his sister and Red was great stuff....and, yes, very underrated.

I agree....although there have been a few good episodes lately, I doubt that 70's show will be the cool show it once was. I really loved Seasons 1-4 best ( perhaps a little bit of 5 ) and I don't think it'll go back to its original hilarity. With Eric now gone, how will the show handle itself? The show has had a good run and now I think it's time to put it to rest and enjoy our DVDs and reruns ;)

I think it's overrated. Not funny at all. Laura Prepon does get points for hotness, though. I think the quality has gone down but for some reason i keep watching because they hook me in. i started watching the season hyde &jackie got together and i've seen all the eps before that. i think you have to watch the old eps to get caught in2 it.

I don't think the show will make it through a full season because I think that without Eric & Kelso, the show won't be the same

Well, if you ask me, I think the show really ran it's own course by withholding 1980 by extending 1979 by far proportions. It shouldv'e ended with the whole cast having a decent send off last season IMO, but I will still support the show despite it jumping the shark already but I will still be watching.
