I know it seemed harmless, but for some reason I didn't. They weren't the only show. Sanford and Son was the same way. I don't think the Jeffersons studio audience ever did that.

I think the Jefferson audience did it one time that I can remember when Billy D. Williams was on the show.

The Good Times audience was crazy on the "JJ's Condition" episode. When the husband came out of the bathroom you could hear people say thing about him like: he's so fine, and where you goin, can I go. They were out of control on this one.

I liked it.It shows their interest and also shows that the character was really was played so well to entertain them, that the audience applauded him or her when they came out on to the set

I could have done without it. I only liked it when a big name guest star. But, in Florida's return to Good Times when Thelma was about to get married, I liked that applause. It was appropriate and she deserved it. Redd Foxx's return to S&S was good too.

I personally didn't like it. That is the one thing I hated about Married with Children. There is such a thing as being too wild. I'll agree, that it was only appropriate for a big guest star or the return of Esther Rolle.

Whe Al or Kelly came out, the place used to go nuts. They were a little too over the top.

I find that wild applause thing unnecessary. I'm glad that the Jeffersons refrained from that sort of thing.

It got to be terribly annoying on Sanford and Son. Every characters entrance was greeted with cheers and applause, that didn't sound real I might add. The actors would stand there and wait for the applause to end, then start their line. I think the show has jumped the shark when every characters entry is greeted with applause.

LOL, it reminds me of the talk shows. Everyone is in such an uproar & cheering for like 5 minutes, & you know the host is sitting there thinking like, will ya'll shut up so I can talk lol!

He was a fine looking guy. I didn't mind that kind of applause or hooting (?) but on shows like Married with Children, and OMG especially with damn Happy Days everytime Fonzie or Chachi came out!!!! Give me a friggin break...what a waste of film time. so lame and stupid.

Or how about Saved By The Bell, every time Slater or Zach would end their lines, the audience would do the say thing. Give me a break.
