EmoJoe 09-22-2005, 03:17 PM -For the new song, when I saw the title I didnt think it was gonna be that good, but I read the lyrics and I was like wow. The lyrics are very sad but very good, but if you dont like country music there's a chance you wont like the lyrics.
missjohnR 09-22-2005, 04:38 PM I love Country Music. I know I will LOVE Carrie's album. She has a beautiful voice. Any song would suit her fine. I do have one question. Trouble. Is that a new song like an Original or is that the Elvis song that she performed on AI?

David 09-22-2005, 05:54 PM I'll sticky it since there's no games or anything happening. When Bo's comes out too, someone should maek an album thread, and it will be stickied as well.
Karen* 09-22-2005, 11:54 PM I wanna make the Bo thread! But since Joe is more of an AI news junkie than I am, maybe he should do it. :p

I like it too. :)
But why is it down forever?
EmoJoe 09-24-2005, 11:32 PM I like it too. :)
But why is it down forever?
Some other Carrie website stole the song, and people have been accusing the webmaster of stealing things and putting it on her site, and latley's its gotten worse (someone said its gone as far as threatninng emails and prank phone calls), so she decided to take it down. I'll miss it :(
EmoJoe 09-24-2005, 11:40 PM The reason is at carrieconnection.com

Anyway, as I mentioned before many times, I'm not big on country music, but I do like Carrie and I think she sounds awesome on her new song. :D

Hmm. It's nice, but for some reason it seems kind of random. It's definitely Carrie though :)
Can't wait to buy it! :woohoo:

Dann Huff has done great things for Faith over the years, so I have no doubt that Carrie's album will be amazing.

I like the title of her album. :D
I probably won't get to hear her single when it comes out on radio. I don't like listening to country stations. :(

I hope so, especially if she's from American Idol which is a show with a lot of pop influences. :)

Im guessing its gonna be a song on the album (like Thankful and Blue Skies).
I honestly think Carrie is gonna be huge. Shes already huge in the country world, and shes getting a ton of promotion between the Hersheys and Sketchers ads to the interviews, so I think she'll sell really well.

Thanks for the updates. :D
Her album cover looks awesome. Beautiful and classy, as always. I'm actually seriously thinking about reviewing her CD for the next issue of my school newspaper, but I'm kinda hesitant. My school mostly only listens to hip-hop and rock. If I review a country CD, it will either open people's eyes to that genre or the closed-minded bastards will hate me forever. But if it gets published, I'll scan it here.
Awesome news that Carrie is releasing a video, but it's even more awesome that she's already going on an independent tour. :woohoo: I can't wait, I'd definitely go! :D
David 10-07-2005, 05:24 PM Very nice cover :D

Press Release - Carrie Underwood Scores History-Making (Source: Arista Nashville)
Top 40 Country Debut! Newcomer Lands Highest Chart Arrival in BDS Era Nashville, TN – Carrie Underwood makes history this week as "Jesus, Take the Wheel," the first new single from her debut album, rockets onto the radio airwaves and the country charts.
"Jesus, Take the Wheel" received so much airplay in its first week of release that it debuts at #39 this on both the Billboard and Radio & Records country singles charts. This marks the first time a newcomer has debuted inside the Top 40 since the start of BDS audience monitoring in 1990.
The chart rankings only begin to tell the 2005 American Idol winner's out-of-the-box success story. Carrie's recording gave her the biggest first-week numbers of any new artist this year, as her song was added to the playlists of more than 70 reporting stations-more than double that of any other song this week and a figure so high that only five mega-stars (Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks, Faith Hill, Gretchen Wilson and Toby Keith) have posted better first-week numbers this year.
The newcomer couldn't be more thrilled by her reception at country radio. " Everybody keeps throwing numbers at me," she observes. "I don't know what they mean, but everybody seems pleased, so I am, too!" Throughout the Idol competition that propelled Carrie into the spotlight this spring, she made it clear to producers and viewers that she's a country music fan and singer. " Every chance I got I wanted to do country music because everybody kept telling us to be ourselves…and that's the music I love."
Carrie's welcome from country radio extends far and wide. In the coming weeks, she'll be showcased in interviews on hundreds of stations via many syndicated radio shows, an album premiere special (hosted by Carrie) and specially created satellite radio programming…proof that radio programmers at every level are jumping at the chance to introduce Carrie and her music to their listeners.
Carrie's debut album, Some Hearts-featuring "Jesus, Take the Wheel" (19 Recording/Arista) -arrives in stores November 15, 2005.

I dont know, I dont think so, it might sound different, though, because its in-studio, so some of the effects and stuff arent there.

EmoJoe 11-15-2005, 05:21 PM I just got my CD at Target, they had 3 columns and there were like 15 out of 25 CDs left. I saw this lady put one of Carrie's CDs in her cart and I got really excited  :D
EmoJoe 11-15-2005, 07:24 PM My Review
(WARNING: SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T GOTTEN THE CD YET)
"Some Hearts" is just an amazing CD. It is BY FAR the best Idol debut. Every song is amazing and I didn't dislike any of the songs- not just because it's Carrie, in fact, if I didnt know who it was sung by, I would STILL love it.
Wasted Really good song, very catchy melody. The lyrics are very deep and it deals with a serious situation, but Carrie pulls it off.
Rating: 9.4/10
Don't Forget to Remember MeVERY touching song. Something a lot of people can relate to, especially mothers of kids who are leaving home, and the kids themselves. Anyone who's left home to go to college/work, whatever, can personally relate to this song. The second verse gave me chills. Also, this is one of the songs where Carrie sounded the best.
Rating: 9.8/10
Some Hearts One of my favorite songs on the CD, AND it's now one of my favorite songs of all time now. Catchy, and it can be popular in pop AND country
Rating: 10/10
Jesus, Take the Wheel Beautiful song. One of the best on the CD. It's gonna be a huge county hit
Rating: 10/10
The Night Before (Life Goes On) Nice country song. It has a good message and a lot of teenagers can relate to it. It's not as memorable as some of the other songs on the CD but it's still a nice song.
Rating: 9.2/10
Lessons Learned WOW! This song goes realllllly low in some places and Carrie sounds AMAZING on it. I was shocked- her lower register sounded GREAT on this song. Everyone can relate to this song, its about learning from your mistakes. It's a good song.
Rating: 9.3/10
Before He Cheats Really fun song, and it's one of my favorites on the CD. Carrie's MAD, lol. Its basically about getting revenge. Carrie sounds amazing on it, it's a really cool song.
Rating: 10/10
Starts With Goodbye This song had me speechless. Its just...really, really, really, really, really, really, amazing. It's a great pop song and it would be a huge hit if released as a single. It's slow and it's about how you have to move on from things. One of the best on the CD
Rating: 10/10
I Just Can't Live a Lie Great song. Talks about how you can't lie to yourself, the storyline to the song is about how Carrie can't lie to herself that she's gonna miss her ex. It can be a hit in pop and country.
Rating: 9.1/10
We're Young and Beautiful Haha, this is a fun song. It's about being young, obviously, sort of on the verge of young and mature. It's a faster song something you can sing along to. Its very country, so those of you who prefer pop might not find this song too appealing. I liked it, though.
Rating: 9/10
That's Where It IsAWESOME. Carrie sounds AMAZING on it. Its has a catchy melody and it's one of my personal favorites on the CD. I honestly thing it has the potential to be huge in the pop world.
Rating: 9.9/10
Whenever You Remember Very nice song, it's very touching, it's about looking back. Carrie sounds great on it and it's an awesome song.
Rating: 9.7/10
I Ain't in Checotah Anymore I cant decide whether this song is serious or fun/silly! It's EXTREMLEY country, it has everything from a fast beat to fiddles in the backround. It's nice because it's Carrie singing from her heart. It's a really good song.
Rating: 9.6/10
Inside Your Heaven Comparerd to the other songs on the CD, IYH is like nothing :p Its still a pretty good song, but it's clearly the least-amazing (I didnt want to be mean and say worst) song on the CD
Rating: 8.4/10
Overall, the best songs, IMO, were "Don't Forget to Remember Me", "Some Hearts", "Jesus, Take the Wheel", "Before He Cheats", "Starts With Goodbye", and "That's Where It Is".
BTW- IYH is the same version as it is on her single.
stainedbeautie 11-16-2005, 12:48 AM Its out now! :D I cant get it until 4 though :(
Glad to see another Carrie fan!
thanks :D . I think the cd is more pop than country. But I read that that was the sound she was going for. But honestly from the first 5 songs I heard there is really little country to it. Nice to see Diane Warren's name 3x. I always love her writing. I think people are going to buy this expecting country and not pop/country. I just got the vibe that people thought all she could sing was country. This cd will prove them wrong. I can't wait to see the first week sales next week. I want to see how it compares to Clays and Kelly's. More Kelly's, I love competition, lol :D.
got mine at Kmart for $10.59 w/ the sales tax. Another reason why I never pre-order from Amazon, they are always somewhat pricey on first day cd's. I only saw about 10-15 cd's there. I was hoping to see less, lol. I think when everyone is off next week for Thanksgiving, Carrie will be in the carts of alot of people.
stainedbeautie 11-16-2005, 12:54 AM I just got my CD at Target, they had 3 columns and there were like 15 out of 25 CDs left. I saw this lady put one of Carrie's CDs in her cart and I got really excited  :D
Lol, I saw a young girl, about 15 starring at it while I was checking out. Alot of young people work at Kmart nowadays, lol. I wanted to buy like 10 and pass them out
Karen* 11-16-2005, 01:13 AM I'm so jealous!! I was supposed to get the CD today, but my dad didn't want to take me to the mall, yet he insisted that I go to Hollywood Video and rent movies instead! :p It's okay though cuz I'll get it for sure tomorrow. Can't wait! :woohoo:

EmoJoe 11-16-2005, 04:28 PM Article
BUt with CMA, Leaning towards north of 350
Article:
November 16, 2005
A pair of potentially big records from female singers from different generations streeted yesterday, with Madonna holding a slight lead over Carrie Underwood in the early going. Right now, the Material Girl’s Warner Bros. album is looking like 325k-350k, while the J/RMG debut from the 2005 American Idol winner is trending at 300k-325k. That said, let us not forget that the CMA Awards were telecast last night, with Underwood singing her current Country hit, “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” and the phenomenon that industryites have dubbed “the CMA factor” makes this race too close to call, considering said factor could easily sweep young Carrie to 350k or beyond.
That same phenomenon could effect a number of other records from Area Code 615, not the least of them this week’s #1—and the biggest debut of Q4 so far—from Kenny Chesney from the potent RLG stable. Look for significant jumps as well from the night’s big winners, Keith Urban, Lee Ann Womack and Brooks & Dunn.
The other debut that could get a kick in the rear from the CMA factor is the follow-up to the 2004 smash from Big & Rich (Warner Nashville), initially looking soft at 125k-150k, but the duo was whoopin’ it up on the show as well, of course.
Island/IDJ has come with an expanded CD+DVD repackage of Mariah Carey’s mega-hit The Emancipation of Mimi, which also contains her latest hit single. This gambit worked wonders last year for Usher, and it’ll solidify the album’s status as the second-biggest seller of 2005 (behind 50 Cent’s The Massacre). Early reports have the beefed-up Mimi shimmying toward the140k-160k hood, and additional sales on the old version could bring the total to 175k or so.
Columbia’s much-ballyhooed reissue of Bruce Springsteen’s 1975 landmark Born to Run containing a concert from the same year and a making-of doc appears to be headed toward 45k-50k, not bad for a $30 package.
The other 11/15 releases looking to do some serious biz are Epic’s Ginuwine, with100k in his sites, and a Green Day live set (Reprise), which should notch up 85k-100k.
The week just completed was a comparatively odd one, up by 9.6% (or a cool million units) over last week but down by 13.7% (or 1.9 million) from the comparable week of 2004. Reason being that week a year ago saw the release of Eminem’s Encore, which bowed at 710k. Hence, year-to-date sales are off by 9.7% (or 51.3 million) at 479.2 million pieces.
David 11-16-2005, 05:01 PM WOO! Carrrrrie!
Karen* 11-17-2005, 12:24 AM Wow!! I LOOOOOVVVEE this CD! Before I bought my CD, I was expecting pure country (Other than the title track, which I think sounds more pop than country), but I think there are a LOT of tracks on here that have crossover potential. And to me this is a good thing...this is the kind of album I want to listen to before I go to sleep, kinda like Carrie singing me a lullaby. :D This is a great CD and I know after this, she'll be here to stay. GO CARRIE!
stainedbeautie 11-17-2005, 10:38 PM CarrieCrazed, that article says she could sell that much. The actual first week sales won't be out until next Tuesday. The number mentioned is an estimated guess. Meaning it could even sell more than that.

Some Hearts, yeah that song is like listening to pop about 5 years ago. That's not a diss against the song or anything though. I like it, it's catchy, but I would stay away from releasing that as a single, it's too pop. My favorites off the album are (in no particular order), "Wasted", "Don't Forget To Remember Me", "Jesus, Take The Wheel", "That's Where It Is", "Whenever You Remember", "Before He Cheats". The ones that stick out to me for potentially awesome singles/radio release are "Wasted", "Before He Cheats", "That's Where It Is".
Don't Forget To Remember Me, I think she should duet with someone and release it as a dueted single. hintMARTINAhint :D For the video Martina can be Carrie's mom *pictures a cute video* :P

I agree, that'd make an awesome duet and video! :D

¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 11-20-2005, 01:20 AM I cant believe Ruben has the #1 Idol debut- where is he now? But I can see why he sold so many in the first week.

 It's okay...I used to dislike Carrie too. But in fact...I think I might even like her better than Bo now. But I said "I THINK," so that's not a for sure! :p
Which song did Carrie sing on Leno?
EmoJoe 11-20-2005, 10:17 AM ^^Yay! We're pulling in more people! Hehehehe :p
Anyway yeah Carrie was really good on Leno, especially considering the fact that she wasn't feeling well when she was performing it.
And OMG...Karen likes Carrie more then Bo  (maybe)
And I totally forgot about the AI DVDs, guess that's going on my Christmas list.

She sang Jesus Take the Wheel, her current single ;)
Speaking of singles- "Some Hearts" is next I think, and after that people are saying "Wasted", but im pretty sure nothing is official. I really hope "Starts With Goodbye" and "Before He Cheats" are released, they're my two favorites (see my sig, lol)

I think "Some Hearts" has already been released. It's doing well on Mediabase already.
Karen* 11-20-2005, 07:36 PM And OMG...Karen likes Carrie more then Bo  (maybe)
I know! Shocking huh? But I guess we're just gonna have to see about that when Bo's CD comes out! ;)

That song has grown on me. I wasn't fond of it to much at first :( . But the whole album is awesome in itself. Those numbers for her sales look great. Has she sold more than Kelly. Ruben? That's is so awesome. I still love my Kel's though, lol. But Carrie, that girl sings her heart out every time I see her. I taped The View this morning, and she sounded amazing. I also saw her on Jay Leno, and both times her voice was crystal clear. I didn't like that backup singer they had for on The View, she was to loud for Carrie. Can't wait for Carrie's solo tour, or a tour with Bo. Now that would be hot, lol.
