what was the name of the dog on petticot junction-he was uncle joes dog? we have been trying to figure this out forever....please help thank you

Yep. In real life his name was "Higgins" and later on he would play "Benji", but on Petticoat Junction his name was simply "Dog".

I have one of the Columbia House tapes where the dog runs away, and Betty Jo (or maybe Bobbie Jo) accidentally calls him "Higgins" when they finally find him.
