Someone told me there is a new song by Alicia Keys and in the song she mentions-"James Evans and Florida Evans" And then the person said to me, why is she talking about those old tv characters? I said because they are the most memorable TV Couple in Sitcoms History that's why. If anyone knows the song let me know. Isiahthomas or Garfieldkool do yall know the song?

"We could fight like Ike and Tina or get back like Bill and Camille
Be rich like Oprah and Steadman or instead struggle like Flo and James Evans
Cuz he ain't no different from you and she ain't no different from me
So we got to live out our dreams
Like the people on TV we gotta stay tuned cuz there's more to see
Unbreakable!"

I actually saw this video once and didn't even pick up on that line. I don't know if you can view this on Web TV Retro, but you can check out a performance of the song here:

Another Good Times reference in a rap song: "It's Your World" by Common

Raised by n*ggas named Butch, Scoot or Bay Bay
With waists so they weigh they status on the streets
License plates that say they motto: this is Chicago in the heyday
Similiar to Good Times, I guess that I was J.J.
A skinny n*gga, young girls with Penny figures

I never thought a rapper would make a reference to J.J. Who sings this song?

I'm listening to Alicia Keys song and it's A$$!!!!. Damm this song is horrible, sounds like a funeral song. Also why would she used real life couple, and then mention a fictional couple like Florida and James???? I'm confused-lol

Alicia Keys is very boring to me. I don't like her music at all. She's a attractive woman but her music sucks. There's a skit on a rapper's album by this guy named Tracey Lee & the skit talks about Good Times tv show. Tracey Lee & some other dudes are talkin about the show & they say why was the show called Good Times. They said everybody on the show was poor & they lived in the projects LOL. That skit cracks me up.
