Within the next few weeks, we can expect premieres for:

Everybody Hates Chris (UPN)
Love Inc. (UPN)

I would rate them....

The War At Home 2/10 (wont be tuning in again)
Twins 6/10
Kitchen Confidential 4/10 (wont be tuning in again)
How I Met Your Mother 8/10

The War At Home (FOX) - Just another stupid family sitcom where the dad is stupid, the wife is smart, the daughter's a whore, and the son's a horndog.

Rating: 2/10 (Will not watch Again)

Twins (WB) - Surprisingly good for a WB show. However, it's comedy seems too usual. Very Will and Grace meets Just Shoot Me. It's not very original, but it is funny.

Rating: 6/10 (If it's on, I'll watch it)

Kitchen Confidential (FOX) - Kind of an awkward pilot, but most pilots are. It's a very original show and it certanly has it's own sense of humor, which is hard to find these days. I think it'll do well. However, being on after Arrested Development only makes it seem much less funny.

Rating: 7/10 (Will watch Again)

How I Met Your Mother (CBS) - Sweet, funny, romantic, and interesting. I didn't laugh hysterically, but I wasn't bored either. I rather enjoyed it.

Rating: 6/10 (If it's on, I'll watch it)

My Name Is Earl (NBC) - Very unique, however it was built up to be this amazing show, when really, I only laughed out loud maybe twice or thrice. Maybe I was just expecting much better. But then again, it is a NBC comedy, I shouldn't have expected too much.

Rating: 5/10 (If nothing else is on, I'll watch it)

I watched the 2 new UPN sitcoms last night.

Love Inc - 4/10 Not very good, but not horrendous. I won't be tuning in again.

Everybody Hates Chris - 9/10 One of the funniest pilots I've seen in a long time, not only is this the best new sitcom of the season.... I think it may be the second best sitcom currently on TV, second only to Arrested Development.

So far, I've only seen How I Met Your Mother, Everybody Hates Chris and Love Inc. I liked the first two, the third one didn't do anything for me. I recorded the premiere episodes of The War At Home, Twins, Kitchen Confidential and My Name Is Earl and plan on finally watching them over the weekend.

My Name Is Earl was good, but Chris is the best. And unlike "Development" (which I love, but am already in mourning over its death- it drew only 4.5 million viewers on Monday), it is actually drawing viewers. This could be the sitcom to bring sitcoms back.

I guess I'm the only one who likes The War At Home. You gotta admit that it's kinda funny

My Name Is Earl is definently gonna be a hit.Jason Lee is a great actor and is definently good at playing Earl.I think it's gonna go to 200 episodes since that's how many things he's wrong on his list and that it's on once a week

So far, the best new show I've seen is "My Name Is Earl." Great show.

I'm still on the fence about "How I met Your Mother" and "Out Of Practice." I have to see a few more eps.

I thought "Everybody Hates Chris" was cute. Nice cast.

This season I think I'm looking forward to seeing more returning shows than new ones. Some of my faves had some great season finales, and I'm anxious to see how things start out for them.

I was hoping to catch an episode of "Head Cases," but I just read that show got canned already. Ouch.

The War At Home (FOX) - bored me 2/10
Twins (WB) - so-so, i'll probably watch it again 6/10
Kitchen Confidential (FOX) - wasn't that bad, but just didnt do it for me 4/10
How I Met Your Mother (CBS) - kinda funny 7/10
Out Of Practice (CBS) - aight 6/10
My Name Is Earl (NBC) - only new show i REALLY liked 9/10 - lets hope NBC doesn't screw it up
Supernatural - pretty enjoyable so far 7.5/10
Invasion - they really made this show out to be something special - it wasn't 3/10
Reunion - man this mess stank 0/10
Bones - not a bad show, but that chick sometimes has a real problem with her delivery that really annoys me 7/10
Criminal Minds - sad to not see Mandy Patinkin on Dead Like Me, but his new show is great ! 8/10
Everybody Hates Chris (UPN) - not a fan of Chris Rock, no score
Love Inc. (UPN) - i have no idea what that is.... no score
Freddie (ABC) - i'm probably not going to bother checking this out
Hot Properties (ABC) - no interest.

out of all the new sitcoms ive watched the best one ive seen was my name is earl i really thought i was going to hate it and tuned in to see how bad it was going to be and i was wrong it was really good i also liked how i met your mother out of practice and twins were ok but need some work

Twins 4/10. I adore Sara Gilbert but the writing stinks, Melanie Griffith is looking like a real life "Corpse Bride"
How I Met Your Mother 9/10. Okay, I am a little biased since my favorite actress is in this, but it actually was funny and has a great potential, but I think the Neil Patrick Harris character will get old fast.
Out Of Practice 8.5/10. Very strong cast and it's nice to see former Popular co-star Gorham as the lead for once, especially with a supporting cast that includes Winkler, Channing and Tilly. Strong potential and I definately plan to tune in again

(I missed Everybody Hates Chris)

other genres:
Bones 7/10. It seems to be doing very well ratingswise. It's a nice little forenzic show, but don't we have enough of them? At least David Boreanaz is showing that he isn't going to be typecast as Angel for the rest of his life, also the lead characters obliviousness to all pop culture references is getting old in week two (example: "people think we are so Mulder and Scully" "I don't understand").
Supernatural 10/10. Best new series. There seems to be a ton of sci-fi/horror shows on the horizon this fall, but this show has got it perfect. I was hooked on it from the first episode and I think if the rest of the season is as good as the first two episodes, this is going to be the next big cult phenomenon. Both leads are great and the show is doing something that hasn't been tackled on television since the early days of The X-Files (a show this will likely have a lot of comparisons to)... making television that is actually scary.

I've seen a few sitcoms. Out of Practice, Twins (both episodes so far), and the yet to to debut Freddie and Hot Properties. I've liked them all a bit, Freddie's pilot is weak, but ABC is going to show episode two first (so it'll be new to me when it debuts Oct. 12), then the pilot the week after (Oct. 19). I'm not into one camera sitcoms really, so My Name is Earl is not my type. I didn't personally get a chance to watch the other marquis sitcoms like How I Met Your Mother and Everybody Hates Chris, but we did review them here at SitcomsOnline! We can start counting the days for the soon to be canceled Kitchen Confidential, Love Inc and The War at Home. Other than that, the new sitcoms seem to be doing OK so far.

On the drama side, Invasion is plain awesome. I think it is a perfect companion to Lost. It'll deliver like DH and Grey, as a good one-two combo. Commander in Chief is probably the most anticpated series premiere next week, I haven't seen it personally, but someone on our staff is reviewing it. I've heard good things about it. Tuesdays 9pm will be jammed with hits this year.

Of all the series I 've seen so far, my two favs are Supernatural and My Name is Earl. Earl comes out of the gate with superb writing, a LOT of laugh out loud moments, very well done. Supernatural is just awesome! Great special effects, great writing, awesome leads. You can deffinately tell the creator McG was really paying attention to other creators like Chris Carter and Joss Whedon. Two huge thumbs up from me :)

Of all the others I've seen so far, Bones I do like. I have to agree with Rob (not biased, tha's fer sure) I can't get passed the lead female so far, she just doesn't seem convincing to me. Love David Boreanaz though, although I do see a minor similarity (very minor similarity) to Angel. Only the redemption factor, but I think that's just a coincidence. Criminal Minds I did really like, but the end just left me scratching my head a bit. Twins is just ok. War at Home is kinda just trying so hard it's uncomfortable. Kitchen Confidentaial was Ok, I'm still giving it a bit of a chance to see where they're going with it.

I think the biggest dissapointment so far was Invasion (sorry pavanbadal) It was just bad. The acting was bad. I had a feeling the whole time that I have seen this before. (that is pretty bad for a brand new show). I'm thinking it's just another Body Snatchers show. Which is dissapointing, cause I love Sci-Fi. I really wanted to like it , which is why I refused to change the channel and endure the pain.

I 'm waiting for Night Stalker, I was a huge fan of the origianl series. So I'm curious to see how they approach it.

Wow. All critics are hailing about this one. Even TV Guide. I loved it. It might have been a slow moving pilot, but so was Lost. Episode 2 is going to be very interesting. I don't think network television has seen a show like this, maybe in the movies, but not on TV. Keep giving the show a chance because it is going to get better and better, just like Lost is. It's not like anything else is on, unless you are a Law & Order or CSI: NY fan, but those two will take hits opposite this show.

Lost pilot SLOW??? Did you see the pilot? That was one of the most adrenalized and intense shows I have ever seen on network television. I don't even see any kind of comparison to Lost at all. What's the difference if it was ripped off of film or TV, the idea isn't original. I don't really care about critics, what do they have to do with me? I'm perfectly capable of forming my own opinions. I and many others usually disagree with them. Everyone I actually know that has watched the show has pretty much described it as painfully bad, at least I rode it out to the end of the ep to see if something could redeem it from it's initial bad impression. It didn't happen, watching the clips for next week only made it seem even more predictable.

I'm not trying to offend you, but that was my thoughts on the series. I thought the characters were one dimensional and predictable, they weren't convincing at all. I just can't see them becoming good actors/characters overnight. I dunno, it just seemed like a cross between the 4400 and invasion of the body snatchers. I think it needs too much work for me to like it, but that's just me.

I don't watch Law & Order or CSI: New York, so I'll just use that hour to catch up on other shows I record on my DVR.

Has anyone else watched Threshold? I haven't seen it yet, but I was wondering if it worth checking out.

I have been disappointed by every new drama so far, maybe Commander-In-Chief will make up for it. But honestly, in some way, I'm hoping it's not all that good as I want My Name Is Earl to succeed.

As for reality shows, I really like The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, even more than the new season of the original.

Lost pilot SLOW??? Did you see the pilot?

I'm talking about in terms of the plot. Did we know what the heck "the monster" or whatever we thought it was, is in the pilot? We don't find out until the season finale sort of. Same thing for Invasion, we don't know yet for a fact that aliens have gotten into the bodies. The Lost pilot was two hours, so you knew more about the characters than in Invasion.

I did in fact hear last season before the Lost pilot aired, that the plot is slow, but it still was well hyped. Invasion is the same way, it was well hyped, but not as much as Lost of course. Both critically acclaimed, too.

Lost would be a great series with or without the "monster", i wouldn't say it was slow though. I would say that they did go a little overboard on the build up of suspense, but it still delivered as far as entertainment goes. I just wasn't entertained by Invasion, you pretty much know that there is an alien thing going on, it's pretty linear. You don't call a show "Invasion" and expect to fool people into thinking it's just a show about a hurricane.

I didn't realize McG created Supernatural, for that I'm shocked. I remember how horribly style-over-substance and overblown the two Charlie's Angels movies were that it's surprising that he's actually focusing on the storytelling this time, and while there have been some cool special effects, it's not to the orgy extent that the two movies he directed were and that this time the story is front and center instead of the effects.

Kitchen Confidential - 7/10
How I Met Your Mother - 5/10
Freddie - 3/10

TV.com is a site by idiots, for idiots. Which explains why, after writing for TV Tome for four and a half years and asking for nothing in return, the people at CN*T decided my services were no longer needed. where is that image from? I DISTINCTLY remember seeing "Created by McG" at the beginning of the first episode, NOT Eric Kripke, because I discussed it at the time with my wife.

I'm not saying that tv.com, or www.imdb.com is never wrong (or even right more than 50% of the time) but surely the WB would be a fairly accurate source of information?

maybe they were BOTH creators of the show, who cares? the open hostility didn't seem necessary in any case...

exactly. Some shows have co-creators, not everyone is a Chris Carter or a Joss Whedon or a Marc Cherry, a lot of shows have more than one. I agree, there's no point to be a jackass over it. It's not the end of the world.

I'm actually surprised Riff likes the show instead of having it top his "this show sucks because it's not going to knock Idol off the top spot in the ratings" list like Arrested Development, Scrubs and Veronica Mars (why do you hate VM?!?! everyone loves it)

I know this is supposed to be about the new sitcoms this season but I thought I would post my opinions on the dramas i have watched...

Best New Drama of The Season Goes to: Commander In Cheif

Commander In Cheif - 9/10
Invasion - 7/10
Criminal Minds - 6/10

I hate shows Like The West Wing, but I really like Commander In Cheif, Invasion didn't hold up to my expectations but It still is a great show, and Criminal Minds Caught me by suprise, It's good but unfortunatly it will loose my viewership (and probally have most of the country's) because My favorite Show (LOST) is on at that time...

Commander In Chief was good, but doesn't even come close to the other dramas on ABC that I like (DH, BL, and Lost). But, I suppose it is the only new drama I was entertained by. So good by ABC, they've got the best new drama of the season once again.

I've tried to watch Invasion twice now, but it hasn't kept me for more than a few minutes. Maybe I'm sabotaging myself in regardings to liking the show- last season I gave a chance to DH, Lost and VM and now I'm hopelessly addicted to all three. I just don't have anytime for new tv shows. Well, maybe not so much to DH anymore as I'm starting to think the series is played out...

I don't know what you guys think, but after watching the last 2 episodes of The War At Home, I think it is hilarious. It isn't the same old predictable humor, they aren't shocking or anything, but the way the present it is very funny. I like how they cut to the different characters talking about the situations, I think it will be on for awhile, especially coming on before Family Guy, which of course is golden now.

I can't comment on Kitchen Confidential just yet. Even though I've recorded every ep I haven't gotten around to watching yet, but this is how I'd rank the new sitcoms I've seen so far:

1. How I Met Your Mother (Barney's probably my favorite character on all the new shows)
2. Everybody Hates Chris
3. My Name Is Earl
4. Out Of Practice
5. The War At Home (I may be in the minority, but I like it)
6. Twins
7. Love Inc.

I notice that you posted this on the 6th and said that George Lopez has yet to premier, when actually, it had it's glorious premier on Wednesday, the 5th.

Hot Properties sucked beyond belief. 1/10.... just because they've got huge racks.

I kid.
I kid.
The show was terrible, and the actresses weren't even hot.

I missed it, watched a baseball game last night. One of the newspapers here gave it a real bad review. I still wanted to check it out, but it sounds like I didn't miss anything.

Wow 1/10 barwars? I thought it wasn't that bad. It is a decent show, probably better than Twins, but in that range. Some of the jokes were sort of funny. This is certainly better than the Freddie pilot (which is actually airing as the second episode).

Give the show a chance, it is decent enough on a tough night to score ratings. Gail and Sofia are hot enough. Sofia is actually listed as one of the hottes women, according to many lists. I saw her in a Rodney episode, and man oh man she livened up that show. That was the best Rodney episode ever, lol (and usually I do not tune in to that show).

New sitcoms I'm watching: Out of Practice, Twins, Hot Properties, and possibly Freddie. Dramas are taking up my time, with Commander in Chief and Invasion added to my drama lineup this season.

I thought Hot Properties was pretty funny. The women really gelled with each other. I think they went out of their way to be risque, which wasn't necessary, but overall, it was pretty good. I'll keep watching. Better writing could really make the show great.

To add on on to my previous post- "Hot Properties" 1/10. IMHO, it's easily the worst new show of the entire season. Nicole Sullivan deserves so much better than that. The funniest thing about it is exaggerated pronounciation of the latina character and her comment "I've spend my entire life surrounded by wood," which was delievered in an off-handed, non-punchliney way. The rest of it was tired and cliched.

My top sitcoms, new and returning:

1. Arrested Development (far and away number 1)
2. Scrubs
3. Less Than Perfect
4. George Lopez

(those are actually the only ones I watch. I do occasionally catch Hope & Faith, but that show is simply beyond saving and has far worn out it's weak welcome.) With dramas being so good these days, sitcoms has simply got to step it up. The only sitcom I would remotely considering giving up "Lost" for is "AD," but that would be a very, very tough choice.

Those haven't even come back yet so how can they be your top returning sitcoms this season if they haven't even been on yet this season...

Yeah... and I have a feeling that both of them are gonna get canned after this season. (not nescesarily because they deserve it, but they won't pull in big numbers IMO)

Finally got around to checking out "Twins" and "Love, Inc." The former is a 4/10. The latter is a 2/10... and probably gets my vote for worst new sitcom. "Twins" might have been a 5 or 6 had they cast anybody but Melanie Griffith in the lead. She not only sucks the laughs out of pretty much every scene, but she seems to be in a completely different show than the rest of the cast.

I'm dropping "Everybody Hates Chris" to a 9, because it hasn't quite held up to its pilot; "How I Met Your Mother" to a 4, because I don't like shows about stalkers; and "Hot Properties" to a 6, because they recast one of the funnier actresses in it, while leaving one with no comic timing to speak of. Even with the recasting, I still think "Hot Properties" is the only decent multi-camera sitcom premiering this fall. Too bad its network isn't the least bit behind it.

Oh, and then there's "Supernatural." Which is still created by Eric Kripke.

what are you 12? get over yerself...

I'm 33, thanks for noticing. I can see where the fine grammar and perfect spelling might have thrown you for a loop in regards to my age. You see, like most people over the age of 12, I do try to make some kind of conscious effort to actually, you know, know what I'm talking about. This is because I would probably be pretty embarrassed to be hoisted on my own petard -- and in a public forum, no less. Of course, people deal with embarrassment differently. I've heard that there are those who don't know what they're talking about who, failing to make any kind of compelling argument for their inaccurate case, choose instead to lash out at and make puerile, baseless personal attacks against the more knowledgeable people who did. I guess the truth hurts.

Don't forget to watch "My Name Is Earl" this Tuesday at 9:00pm (8:00pm Central)! Best new sitcom of the year!

actually my comment was in reference to your childish attitude, obnoxious comments, your need to attack others to compensate for your own insecurities, and instigate arguments for no reason other than to make yourself seem to be some sort of self-described expert...

you HAVE hoisted yourself up by your own petard - but the question is can you be big enough to let yourself down?

Well... I can see how they can dislike them, but 0/10 is harsh! Especially when you have Hope & Faith as well as Reba at 9/10.

I agree, Bernie Mac and Malcolm should get better treatment. Does Longetivity count for anything at all anymore.
