Besides Punky Brewster and Police Academy, name some shows that you also saw George Gaynes appear on.

Before PB, I saw him on a S3 episode of Hawaii Five-O, sporting what appears to be a black mustache.

He appeared on an episode of Cheers from the second season, called "Where There's a Will".

George has done a tonne of stuff... just check IMBD... he's been going since the 1960's.

I know he appeared in the 1982 movie "Tootsie" with Dustin Hoffman.

I agree with the above poster. It's probably best to look up his acting credits on the imdb.

He also appeared in 1980 as mob boss Frank Smith on General Hospital, who inadvertently threw soaps' most popular supercouple of all time, Luke and Laura, together. The role was short-lived but very pivotal and memorable.

He also appeared on The Original WKRP in Cincinnati

Amusingly enough, his real life wife, Allyn Ann McLerie, actually had a recurring role on WKRP in Cincinnati as Carmen Carlson, Mr. Carlson's wife.
