They just showed a promo on BET of a special called "We'll Be Right Black: Top 25 Black TV Shows" airing tonight (Sept 20). I just caught a quick glimpse but it looks like Haywood Nelson will make an appearance, they showed him with a baseball cap on doing his "hey hey hey" line. I think I saw a mustache on him too.

Both Haywood Nelson and Ernest Thomas appeared on this special, talking about What's Happening. They were on very briefly. WH came in at #16 on the list of 25 favorite shows.

This show is garbage. How the hell would The what's Happening be lower than Girlfriends? I'm glad i didn;t record it

I did a feature on the blog on this. But the blog is having server problems, so it didn't post yet.

At least I finally got a chance to see what Ernset Thomas and Haywood Nelson look like nowadays. I've never seen what those two looked like after WHN!! ended. I've seen how Rerun looked before his death, though.

The Jeffersons should be higher than Soul Food.

Martin and Soul Food are way too high. The Jeffersons should be #2. What's Happening!! should be around #10. Not that I like any of these shows, but still surprised they didn't make it: The Parkers, Jamie Foxx and Wayans Bros. The Wire, Soul Food, and The Chris Rock Show, should not be on this list.

I saw this the other night as well. Obviously, this was a poll vote. Martin was way to high. Roc was way too low. Soul Train, Fat Albert, the Jeffersons, Diff'rent Strokes should have been higher. Soul Food, and Girlfriends should have been lower. I thought Sanford and Son would have been in the top five. But it was a strong #6. Different World should have been in the top 10. I knew Cosby would be #1 though.

Hangin' W/Mr. Cooper should have made the list over any UPN show.

Is it because they're cable shows?

I'm surprised The Wire and Roc made the list over Moesha. Another show that may be too old for people to remember but I'm still surprised didn't make the list: Julia. Also, no Flip Wilson Show

Ernest Thomas had a very small role in "Malcolm X". Check that out.

Julia and Flip Wilson SHOULD have been on the list. I mean, those were big shows for their time.

I also agree that "The Jeffersons" should have been in the top five. My list would look nothing like their list. Even though I don't like "The Cosby Show" I agree that it belongs on top.

I'd put "Keanan & Kel" before I'd put "Girlfriends".
