Here are some ironic quotes and plotlines from "Gilligan's Island" as they relate to the future:

In one of the first episodes, Ginger says, "If we had to be stranded on an island, why couldn't it have been Manhattan?" Tina Louise became one of the millions of New Yorkers and out-of-towners stranded on Manhattan on September 11, 2001, when the World Trade Center was attacked and Manhattan was shut down. :(

In the rescue movie episode, Mr. Howell rejects Mary Ann's suggestion that Washington, D.C. be used in the film as a point of reference. "I'm a Republican! No one there would want to look for me!" Today, Washington is very much in the hands of the party of Howell.

Then there was the episode in which Gilligan's hair turned snowy white. Well, Bob Denver's hair really did turn white. Toward the end of his life, in fact, he bore a faint resemblance to the new Pope!

Anyone else have any similar observations?
