Desperate Housewives Who deserves to win, but is not nominated? The King Of Queens Who do I think will win next year? Joey vashti1999 09-18-2005, 02:35 PM :bump Pavan 09-18-2005, 02:37 PM Who do I think will win next year? Joey No offense, but is this some kind of joke? Johnny S 09-18-2005, 02:58 PM No offense, but is this some kind of joke? No I am sorry to say this isint a joke Pav. I seriously still have confidence that Season 2 will be 20x better than Season 1. And yes I know that it picking up a Emmy is a longshot even if it is 20x better. However thats just my twisted opinion. Dean Winchester 09-18-2005, 04:25 PM No I am sorry to say this isint a joke Pav. However thats just my twisted opinion. even if Joey gets better this season, it has ways to go before being in the same league as Housewives and Arrested IMO. Johnny S 09-18-2005, 07:57 PM even if Joey gets better this season, it has ways to go before being in the same league as Housewives and Arrested IMO. I don't disagree with you at all. I geuss I just like making bold predictions. lol Johnny S 09-18-2005, 08:00 PM Woo! The Emmys are on!!! USTVFanFromUK 09-18-2005, 11:08 PM I'm kinda glad Everybody Loves Raymond won as well. Though I'm not a huge fan of the show, the last season was strong and the finale was original. I'm glad Emmys weren't predictable this year Pavan 09-18-2005, 11:14 PM The replacement will be Crumbs, I hope. But DH will win for sure next year. JT 09-18-2005, 11:14 PM Ray Romano burns in hell. USTVFanFromUK 09-18-2005, 11:14 PM Must say though.... Arrested Development is better than both DH and ELR combined. Watch Fox kill it this year because it only won one major award. It's also pretty doubtful it will attract much of an audience this year as well. vashti1999 09-18-2005, 11:16 PM Although I prefer DH, I was very happy that ELR beat it. Why????? I'm glad Emmys weren't predictable this year. Between Spader, Shatner, Roberts, Garrett and Shalhoub all winning again, I thought it was more predictable than unpredictable, down to ELR winning for its final season. Pavan 09-18-2005, 11:17 PM I think the only reason DH lost was because this was Raymond's last year. USTVFanFromUK 09-18-2005, 11:25 PM Why????? Between Spader, Shatner, Roberts, Garrett and Shalhoub all winning again, I thought it was more predictable than unpredictable, down to ELR winning for its final season. I meant in terms of the shows and Lead Actress In A Comedy awards. Everyone though DH was a sure bet for Best Comedy, yet it wasn't. ELR was a shocker imo, most critics thought the award would either go to AD or DH. USTVFanFromUK 09-18-2005, 11:29 PM I think the only reason DH lost was because this was Raymond's last year. Well, last year was Frasier's last year and it didn't win. And we all know Frasier is the all time champ in that category. Though I'm not a huge fan, ELR is one of those shows that stayed consistently well-produced and funny throughout it's entire run and the finale wasn't predictable material either. Don't the Emmy's look at single episodes when voting? Maybe DH submitted one of the weaker episodes. spunkygirl 09-18-2005, 11:31 PM I can't believe Everybody Loves Raymond beat Desperate Housewives. It only won cause it was it's last season USTVFanFromUK 09-18-2005, 11:35 PM I can't believe Everybody Loves Raymond beat Desperate Housewives. It only won cause it was it's last season I don't understand where you all are getting this "last season" stuff from. If that was the case, then Frasier would've won it as well last year. And we all know Frasier holds more sentimental value to Emmy voters than ELR. The last season of ELR was not a bad one and the finale was very well written, which is the episode I believe they submitted. I think DH submitted the pilot, which might've hurt the show. spunkygirl 09-18-2005, 11:45 PM Pav said the same thing too, and I bet it will be said by alot of people as well. Alot of people are truly shocked Raymond won, cause they felt this season of Raymond overall was weak. HuntingtonM15 09-18-2005, 11:45 PM I don't understand where you all are getting this "last season" stuff from. If that was the case, then Frasier would've won it as well last year. I agree. to Raymond! HuntingtonM15 09-19-2005, 12:39 AM If anybody from "Raymond" deserved a sentimental award for the show's weakest season ever, it was Peter Boyle. I was also hoping he would win it. He definitely deserved at least ONE. vashti1999 09-19-2005, 10:07 AM Best Comedy Emmy - Everybody Loves Raymond SO - Desperate Housewives Best Comedy Actress Emmy - Felicity Huffman SO - Marcia Cross Best Comedy Actor Emmy - Tony Shalhoub SO - Jason Bateman Best Drama Emmy - Lost SO - (tie) Lost, 24 Best Drama Actress Emmy - Patricia Arquette SO - Glenn Close Best Drama Actor Emmy - James Spader SO - (tie) Hugh Laurie, Kiefer Sutherland I'd say SO voters made the better choices. Dean Winchester 09-19-2005, 02:27 PM I don't understand where you all are getting this "last season" stuff from. If that was the case, then Frasier would've won it as well last year. I think DH submitted the pilot, which might've hurt the show. well, last year, the "last season" thing happened to Sex And The City as well. Both Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon finally won Emmys for the shows last season, and I think any S&TC fan can tell you season six wasn't exactly the shows best season. They usually seem to use last seasons as a "ok, well, we'll give the awards we never got to but always wanted". Frasier and Friends had won their Emmys before 2004, so it was okay to give it to AD. I don't think Raymond had ever won a "Best Comedy Series" Emmy before this year. At least one of the Housewives won Best Actress instead of Patricia Heaton. I don't think Raymond had ever won a "Best Comedy Series" Emmy before this year. At least one of the Housewives won Best Actress instead of Patricia Heaton. Actually, Everybody Loves Raymond did in fact win 'Outstanding Comedy Series' in 2003, which really isn't that long ago. HuntingtonM15 09-19-2005, 03:10 PM I don't think Raymond had ever won a "Best Comedy Series" Emmy before this year. It did also win the award in 2003. JT 09-19-2005, 06:13 PM The only thing that really impressed about this year's show was the inclusion of Ruth Warrick and William J. Bell in the memorial montage. The fact that they went as far as showing a snippet of AMC's old 70s/80s opening sequence AND an actual clip (that was shown on the show a few months ago) from 1976 was amazing. The Daytime Emmys didn't even mention the passing of this LEGEND of the genre. Rene 09-19-2005, 09:41 PM Must say though.... Arrested Development is better than both DH and ELR combined. Next year's Emmys should be interesting. I wonder what the replacement for ELR will be. scrubs or arrested development shouldve won |
