No I am sorry to say this isint a joke Pav. I seriously still have confidence that Season 2 will be 20x better than Season 1. And yes I know that it picking up a Emmy is a longshot even if it is 20x better. However thats just my twisted opinion. :devil:

even if Joey gets better this season, it has ways to go before being in the same league as Housewives and Arrested IMO.

I'm kinda glad Everybody Loves Raymond won as well. Though I'm not a huge fan of the show, the last season was strong and the finale was original. I'm glad Emmys weren't predictable this year

The replacement will be Crumbs, I hope. But DH will win for sure next year.

Must say though.... Arrested Development is better than both DH and ELR combined.


Watch Fox kill it this year because it only won one major award. It's also pretty doubtful it will attract much of an audience this year as well.

Although I prefer DH, I was very happy that ELR beat it.

Between Spader, Shatner, Roberts, Garrett and Shalhoub all winning again, I thought it was more predictable than unpredictable, down to ELR winning for its final season.

I think the only reason DH lost was because this was Raymond's last year.

I meant in terms of the shows and Lead Actress In A Comedy awards. Everyone though DH was a sure bet for Best Comedy, yet it wasn't. ELR was a shocker imo, most critics thought the award would either go to AD or DH.

I think the only reason DH lost was because this was Raymond's last year.


Well, last year was Frasier's last year and it didn't win. And we all know Frasier is the all time champ in that category.

Though I'm not a huge fan, ELR is one of those shows that stayed consistently well-produced and funny throughout it's entire run and the finale wasn't predictable material either.

Don't the Emmy's look at single episodes when voting? Maybe DH submitted one of the weaker episodes.

Pav said the same thing too, and I bet it will be said by alot of people as well. Alot of people are truly shocked Raymond won, cause they felt this season of Raymond overall was weak.

If anybody from "Raymond" deserved a sentimental award for the show's weakest season ever, it was Peter Boyle.

I was also hoping he would win it. He definitely deserved at least ONE.

Actually, Everybody Loves Raymond did in fact win 'Outstanding Comedy Series' in 2003, which really isn't that long ago.

It did also win the award in 2003.

The only thing that really impressed about this year's show was the inclusion of Ruth Warrick and William J. Bell in the memorial montage. The fact that they went as far as showing a snippet of AMC's old 70s/80s opening sequence AND an actual clip (that was shown on the show a few months ago) from 1976 was amazing. The Daytime Emmys didn't even mention the passing of this LEGEND of the genre.

Must say though.... Arrested Development is better than both DH and ELR combined.



Next year's Emmys should be interesting. I wonder what the replacement for ELR will be.
