Today is a special day, indeed. On this day -- Saturday, September 14, 1985 -- 20 years ago today, The Golden Girls debuted on NBC. The episode "The Engagement" was the first GG episode to air. :birthday:, GG!!!!! :D

I was about one month old when GG debuted, so it is weird thinking GG is as old as I am. :eek: :lol:

I actually remember sitting on the couch with my mom on Sept 14, 1985 watching Gimme A Break, Facts Of Life and the premieres of Golden Girls and 227!!! I remember that because my mom was telling me that GG and 227 were brand new shows.
