I cannot stand when someone tailgates me. They have no idea when and if I may have to stop abruptly. The way they tailgate my ass, I know I will be rear-ended. I almost always have to change lanes to ease my fears.
My second peeve is those damn cell-phone people. Who the hell is so important to talk to that they think they can almost hit me and then have the nerve to get irritated at me!!!??? I didn't almost hit you, YOU almost hit me!!! I should be angry.

I think about this everyday- People who do not use their blinkers.

What, am I a mind reader? Can you be more dangerous to oncoming traffic and the people behind you?

When you buy a car are blinkers an "option"?

I wish cops would bust more people for not using them, it is a freaking hazzard.

mainly the fact that other people are driving, and I can't.

Good question, Irene. I go through this everyday. I hate the tailgating, especially in the wintertime when you are forced to drive slower, I hate when people pass you on the right and then they end up going no where, I hate when people make left turns on a busy street and if they see you coming they slow your speed down, and they don't really have the right-of-way. And people in front of you turning left or right without signaling.

- People who do not signal
- Tailagaters, especially in crappy weather
- People who insist on riding my ass when Im going 5-10 OVER the speed limit
- Drivers who catch up to me. I hate having other cars behind me, Im so paranoid
- People on bicycles who like to drive in the middle of the road
- People who cut out in front of you only to drive slow or take the next street
- PARKING LOTS

And also....

-people who are on their cellphones
-people who are doing personal grooming WHILE driving (makeup, brushing hair, etc) Go home and DO that! Geez....

When you're driving on a main road and people on the cross streets approach the stop sign, and go like 5 feet past it. Then you have to swerve out of the way in case they go right through the stop sign. Its soooo annoying.

I hate when ppl ride my ass....I have my permit and my dad will let me go 5mph over the limit, then ppl will come up and ride my ass...im always like GEEZ IM A NEW DRIVER BACK OFF!!! I get so excited when a person doesnt ride my bumper...I love it when they give you space!! I also hate it how ppl excessivley speed...like 5 mph isnt bad on the highway...some back roads you should go the limit....but when ppl road rage....damn....nothing is that important that will warrent you to endanger yourself and others to drive like a fool.

That's pretty much my major complaint, too.
I think if a cop observes someone driving and turning mile after mile without using signals, the fine should be that the car is impounded for one week. They do that, and you'll see everybody always using turn signals!

As for tailgaters, I don't like them on the highway because I try to keep it at a steady 60-65 mph to keep down fuel comsumption.
On the surface streets, they don't bother me because I can always hit the gas and the 400-hp engine in my Cadillac will end their tailgating right away!

everything. :D

The other day, it was this lady who was trying to get on the intersate. There were two lanes that merged into one and we happened to in the one that DID NOT have to yield. So the lady in front of me stops. HELLO...WE DON'T HAVE TO YIELD!

I had problems with her earlier too. She was trying to turn into a parking lot crossing traffic. She could have turned twice and backed up and gotten out of her car and did a dance, but she DIDN'T TURN. HELLO! I almost didn't make the light. And then it took her 30 mins to turn.

So I guess 2 of mine are:
- If you don't know how to drive the interstate or it scares you, please stay the hell off it. Especially if merging freaks you out. I don't have the patience to wait behind you while you stop at the end of the on-ramp. pissed:
- and for god sakes...learn how long your car is and that it doesn't take an hour to cross traffic.

-People who honk their horns just to bother you (that used to happen when I was in driver's ed)
-People who dont use their signals
-People who invade the other lanes

People do that coming out of parking lots all the time. Again, they have no idea how long their car is.

That reminds me. You and someone else are sitting at a corner on a four-lane street. You want to turn right and the other person is either going straight or turning left. You pull up enough so you can see the traffic coming. So the bastard/bitch in the other car inches forward. So you have to inch forward to see around them. And then they do it again!!

Tailgating is my #1 pet peeve

Someone mentioned this... that a car goes in front of you then drives slow (WHY???) You jumped in front of me???

I see this on the highway all the time Speeders galore. Here I am going over my speed limit and people are just going by rapidly and they never get caught. Now if I were to do it I would get caught.

Animals jumping in front of the car like Deer, possum, muskrat, frogs, butterflies, anything.....

Well, I loathe tailgating

I ALSO HATE HATE HATE when I'm driving and I see someone trying to merge so I take it down just a few mph so they can get in and they start to move and they have enough room and then they STOP! And it's like, I can't read your mind, you have to either move or NOT MOVE AT ALL, then I'm scared they're gonna swerve out. Ah!

And I hate people who go 25 mph in a 50 SINGLE LANE ROAD, it's like, no, you DON'T need to go that slow

Oh, and when I'm at an intersection and there's someone across from me whose making a right turn and I want to make a left, and THEY DON'T MOVE! And then they make some weak hand signal to me, no, because if I hesitate, they're prolly gonna move and I'll be moving and we'll both die. Right turns=right away

There are a TON of Native American reservations in North Dakota. Fort Yates, Fort Totten, Turtle Mountain and Standing Rock. Fort Yates is closest to me, and I used to live near Fort Totten (probably the ****tiest reservation in this state). I swear...When people are driving to/from/through the reservation(s), they switch into "ME ME ME ME ME ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!" mode. Nobody respects each other when they're on the road to/from/through the reservations around here.

My mom and I were driving down to Fort Yates on Saturday 8/27/05, because Vicki Lawrence was performing at the Prairie Knight Casino on the Ft. Yates reservation. Let me set the scene for you. Imagine a "train" of six vehicles puttering along, headed towards Ft. Yates. In this "train," my mom and I are in the car that is the 2nd car from the front -- we were right behind the first car. We couldn't pass the front car, because we were going past a LOT of lines on the road where you couldn't pass. Finally, when the lines turned back to - - - - -, we got the chance to pass...Guess what happens as soon as we FINALLY get in front of the first car...the 4 other cars pass us! What the ****, man? We were doing like 70-75 when we passed the car and they were doing AT LEAST 90, and this was NOT on a highway. This was on a good 'ole one-lane country road with a TON of curvy roads!

 Whyyyyyyyy?????? Are you REALLY that impatient? **** you. You should've left earlier if you're apparently in such a hurry to get "SOMEWHERE!"

 That irritating BASS sound that eminates from cars and it shakes your car, you and anything around. You can't even hear the friggin' music, why on earth would one want to damage what hearing they have left with that crap???? And when they drive away you can still hear it. They should just have someone in their car and play the bass guitar, no cd, no stereo, no nothing but a bass guitar...it's the same thing. IDIOTS

OMG...I hear ya. I used to live in an apartment building that was on the corner of two very busy streets. One street led down to a turnoff to the highway and the other one? Just busy in general. *shrugs* I heard loud cars with bass ALL THE FREAKING TIME. Didn't help that my bedroom was RIGHT in the corner of the building that faced the two street corners. My room would shake every time somebody with a loud car passed by the building.

all i'll say is my dad screaming "HURRY!" and "WATCH OUT!" and "DON'T HIT THAT CAR!" because it makes me panic so badly and lose control. that's exactly how i got into my accident the other day. i'm not necessarily blaming him for the whole thing but if he hadn't SCREAMED at me telling me what to do (in an alarming way, not a disciplinary or bossy one) i would have been able to do it. instead my foot went stiff and slammed down on the gas and i was such a wreck i couldn't pick it up to save my life..quite literally too.

:( I know this sounds so damn cliche, but someday in maybe a couple weeks after the shock has worn off a little, you just need to get back in the car and overcome the fear. Put it in your mind that you'll be a great driver and everything will be fine. Heck, just go around the block at first, just to get back to feeling comfy in the car again. Too bad you can't try it on your own so that there's no one to distract you.

yeah i'm definitely taking a break from driving on highways. i'm sure that if i were alone i would've been immediately able to get back on the road after i started to drift (which happened when the sun was blinding me and i put down the mirror thing so i could see) instead of panicking and hitting a sign.

Awww.... I know this is scary and all, but I truly hope this won't scar you. For many years, I conjured up my own fear of driving. It was not based on accidents or mistakes, but it was more solely my own "fears" going on in my head. For instance, I JUST got over my fear of driving on freeways this past January, and I'm in my late 20s! Wow! Side streets and frontage roads are alternatives until you are ready for the freeway. There is no law saying you MUST use a freeway. Other streets work well too. :)

Yeah, my boyfriend has a bad habit of doing that crap. I have told him to shut the hell up and allow me to drive. When I drive by myself, with my kids, or anyone else for that matter, I am the best driver. BUT when he is with me, he has to say, "WATCH OUT FOR THAT A**HOLE!!!". Not in a normal voice, a very loud voice that can make me crash. It's his hollering that will cause me to crash one day. How is that gonna sound to the police officer???

- people who use there blinker, but then they turn and forget they had it on and it's blinker for like miles after that! I just want to scream "Turn off your damn blinker!"

-tailgaiters. Actually for me it's anyone who's behind me in general, even if there's plenty of room between our cars. I just get paranoid because I think they're following me or whatever.

- pedestrians who walk out in front of you and EXPECT you to slow down! I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE when people do that. Unless there's a sign that says "slow- pedestrians" or they are crossing at a crosswalk/intersection area I should NOT have to slow down. Most of the time it's adults who KNOW better, too. Why are people so stupid and act like they own the roads and car should automatically slow down for them. Some day I might just speed up and run them over! serves them right.

Well I'm 19 & I just got a car a couple of months ago! :D

Here's things that irritate me..

1.)You're driving with friends & they criticize you on your driving.Talking about what turns you should make, what shortcuts to take, the things you did on the road etc. I just want to be like, do ya'll want to drive??

2.)People who want to turn the radio up or cd real loud when I'm driving.I really don't like to drive with my music real loud, especially when I'm out in the highway, it makes me really nervous.

3.)When I'm on the highway & there's these big trucks on the side of you.I hate driving near these, I'm always afraid of them tipping over & falling on top of my car or crashing into me.

4.)Kids that are like in the middle of the road & they see you coming, but they still don't move. I hate that!

5.)You see somebody you know when you're out & they hunk their horns & roll down their window to talk to you. I'm sitting here thinking like, now is not the time for me to be talking to you.
