View Full Version : Do you like websites that have message boards WITHOUT email notification?
TVFactFan 09-13-2005, 11:37 AM I hate websites like imdb, tvland and certain sports sites that have message boards and don;t have email notification. That is the main thing I like about this site that you don;t have to go back to a board to see if your post recieved any replies. Anyone else dislike websites with message board that don;t have email notification?
Brian Damage 09-13-2005, 11:40 AM I am so use to the structure of this board, that I don't bother with any other message boards. I don't bother with email notifications anyway. I post so much, that I'll have way too many emails.

I was going to say the same thing about email notification.
I found out a long time ago (when I posted more) that the emails pile up and it gets annoying.

I just think it's easier for me to be notified by email. so how do you see if your thread gets replies? By going to the Today's active thread feature?

I go to my name on a post and click on "find more posts by dlemond" and then, presto, all my posts.

Why would u want to be notified everytime? Who has that much time on their hands????? I don't. I am here on the boards maybe an hour or hour and a half, but that's all. TVLand boards!!??? Soloman, what the hell is wrong with you???? YUCK!!!

Yo, Solomon, I am a member of IMDB and that web site HAS email notification. I am there everyday. Actually, that site has some advantages this one don't. You can change your username without going to an administrator, and you can delete your own threads.

Well i will have to check it out later on this month. That site doesn;t allow MSNTV users to post messages. So that;s why i have MSN TV 2 on the way
swedeace 09-13-2005, 03:26 PM I am subscribed to various forums, and I LOVE the "email notification" feature. It's very helpful, especially on those forums I don't check on a daily basis. I have come across another forum I frequent daily where the "email notification" isn't functioning well because I haven't been getting notifications for that. Sometimes here and the other forum I frequent there are just soooo many new threads that it's difficult keeping up, and I don't want to forgot a thread.
