If you have a certain show on your list and then it's released on DVD, do you then take the show off your have list? For example, I had 10 eps of That's My mama and then it was released on DVD in august, so i saw no point of keeping it on my list when the entire series is on DVD. Has anyone done this?

I tend to keep it on my list just because some people will sacrifice quality for reasonable price (ie. trade). I think that it is important to note though if you are going to keep it on your list that they are not dvdrips. I feel kinda cheated when I trade someone something that took a lot of time to put together and all I get in return are dvdrips. I could have done that myself.

so it rarely comes up

but since retails are against the sitcoms rules, then they are about worthless if you want to swap them here, so keeping the made from tv set, and trading it here is about the only way to go

In a discussion a few days ago, you stated, you have nothing "common" on your want list. We are nothing more than a bunch of collectors here & I would argue that "common" vs "special" is not objective in this arena & depends wholly upon the individual(s). I have yet to find anything on your trade list I'm interested in. Not because I think you have a bad collection. It's simply because you don't have shows (at least yet) that I'm looking for. Some people want commercials, some don't. Some only want a certain level of quality, others just want the show, regardless of the quality.

Having said all that, I'd say one way to look at it is that your shows have become "common" if they are readily available on DVD. Another way to look at it is that your shows are "special" since they are recorded from tv (especially if they include the commercials). So my opinion is to leave them on your list...what do you have to lose?

That's ok, every trader is not into vintage tv shows so I don;t expect everyone to be interested in things on my list.

Ok well it can several reasons, some traders collect dramas, police shows, shows from the 50's or 60's. I mainly carry sports, and tv comedies from 1970-1999. So yes i see your point

I keep seperate lists anyway, released(DVD rips) and unreleased(TV rips). I will only post my unreleased list on here. I will keep TV rips on my list after it has a retail release. I myself would rather have the retail rip of a show that has had a complete release than lower quality VHS to DVD, to each their own. Through email I will send all my lists to whoever is interested in anything I have. I still trade lots of retails, just don't ask or list any on here. Lots of people have retail sets mixed in with their lists who post here or post links to their website.
