Friday July 14th on Nick at Nite:
9:00PM Perfect Strangers 001 - Knock Knock, Who's There Larry Appleton moves to Chicago to live on his own. His solitude is suddenly disturbed when Balki Bartokomous a very distant cousin lands on his doorstep. Balki goes to work with Larry and ends up selling items in the store for less than they are worth. Their boss "Twinkie" allows them to keep their jobs at least long enough to make weekly deductions to pay for their losses.
9:30PM Perfect Strangers 002 - Picture this Larry tries to teach Balki how to say "no" so that people will not take advantage of him. Balki won't help Larry baby-sit a Great Dane, because of this. Which ruins Larry's chances of getting a picture of Dolly Parton to sell to yhe tabloids. Larry learns he doesn't want to get ahead by compromising someone else's reputation. Balki learns to help people only when he wants to and not because he thinks he has to.
10:00PM Perfect Strangers 003 - First Date Balki convinces Larry to bring him to a singles bar to learn how to meet women. Balki gets a date with a woman named Diane, but all larry gets is punched out when he approaches someone else's girlfriend. Balki talks Larry and a friend into a double date at a restaurant with them, to break the ice. Larry is afraid of being embarrassed, but Balki's personality turns the whole restaurant into one big party. Larry and Balki learn that if they relax and just be themselves, people will like them.
10:30PM Perfect Strangers 004 - Baby You Can Drive My Car Balki wants to pursue a part of the" American Dream" by getting his driver's license. Larry is determined to help him when Twinkie bets $50 that Balki can never do it. After Balki memorizes the manual and masters the "simulator" (Larry's coffee table), Larry takes him out in his car. Balki has a collision with a shopping cart and Larry overreacts, deflating Balki's confidence. Feeling guilty, Larry lets him use his car to take his driving test. Balki gets a 100 percent onthe written part of the quiz, saves the instructor's life on the road test, earns his license and wins Larry the $50 from Twinkie.
11:00PM Perfect Strangers 005 - Check This Larry is surprised to find that Balki keeps his money under the mattress of his broken couch, so he talks him into opening a checking account. Unfortunately, Balki doesn't fully understand how to use it and writes a check for more money than he has. Balki purchases over $3000 worth of furniture for Larry's apartment and sells Larry's old furniture to Twinkie for almost nothing. Larry is devastated. Balki is finally able to get the furniture back by being Twinkie's alibi to his wife. Feeling responsible for Balki's misunderstandings of the American banking system, Larry offers to teach Balki how to balance his checkbook.
11:30PM Perfect Strangers 006 - Happy Birthday, Baby Larry's dream of becoming a photo journalist is almost a reality, when he is offered money for a photo by a city newspaper. Balki and Susan decide to throw him a birthday and congratulations surprise party. Larry comes home with his dream shattered, feeling like a failure. Depressed he tells Balki, he wants to be alone and Balki is surprised and frantic as he tries to reroute the party to please Larry.
