You should join us on the Freaks and Geeks board. (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=565) We could use some enlivening of discussion there.

Pretty in Pink, I have no idea where you're coming up with $80 for F&G. At Suncoast (one of the most expensive media stores), it was 39.99 or 49.99 the last time I checked. I got my copy of F&G at the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN for 29.99 but that was because I had an assload of Replay certificates with me. ;)

I LOVE F&G. I watched F&G in its original run on NBC the 1999-2000 season, and enjoyed it very much. I was very upset when they cancelled F&G.

I got the standard set when it came out in April '04. Jack, they don't sell the yearbook edition in stores. As Brad said, it was only available via online ordering on their official website. You could NOT buy it on Amazon or anywhere.

You could PROBABLY find copies of the yearbook edition circulating on eBay and possibly Amazon now, though... and on the yearbook edition, they had a LOT more material than what was on the standard edition plus it was made to look like a yearbook. Even had yearbook pictures and everything. If I remember correctly...when they were selling the yearbook edition on their site, it was $120.

Then eBay for sure. But if you REALLLLLLLLLLLY want the Yearbook Edition, be prepared to drop as much as $100 for it on eBay.

I wouldnt be surprised if it is more that that. It was more than that when it was new.

Are you serious???    When I was at Best Buy about a year or so ago, and I was looking it up there, it was $79.99 down here (Texas) Seriously! I will DEFINETLY have to look into it again! I have no earthy idea why the price was so much back then compared to all these other prices. Could it have been because it was just released at that time? I went to bestbuy.com and it's $51.99 now. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6310404&type=product&id=1351254

I'll have to look into other stores to shop for the cheapest price. But that is seriously very odd!

I've never seen the show, but why haven't they contemplated resurrecting it ala Mama's Family or Family Guy or something considering the new life it's gained on DVD? Granted, James Franco probably thinks he's too hot **** to come back but I'm sure everyone else would come back.

The experience of what they went through with NBC was too painful an experience for the creative team to want to do it again, though Judd Apatow says in the dvd liner notes that there'll be a reunion movie in 2009 with only one returning actor (still playing a 15 year old). So basically he's saying they won't do Freaks and geeks again.

Actually it was Samm Lavine, because he looks so young. He was like 18 at the time playing 14.

Also if you wanted the yearbook edition, it is still available for $120...

I've only seen this show a few times and I really liked it. Paul Feig, the creator, went to school with my older sister. When they graduated in 1980 my sister said that she knew he would go on to go some great stuff. He was voted most talented in his class and my mom still has my sisters yearbook with his pics in it. I just wish my sister would have lived to see the show he created.

I've never seen Freaks and Geeks, but I've heard very good things about it. It's strange that all the best high school shows like Square Pegs and My So Called Life never make it beyond a season on network television.

I loved that show! I still want to get the DVD, but haven't had much money. It's rare for me to have an extra 50 bucks laying around. Once I do have enough, I'm buying it- Season 1, which unfortunatly is the entire series!

The other night I was watching "Kitchen Confidential" and I'm pretty sure that the guy who played Sam on the show was on it. The one who's the brother, but I forget his real name. He looked really familiar at first and then I remember it was the boy from Freaks and Geeks. He looks so much older and A LOT taller!

That was him! John Francis Daley. Jason Segel who played Nick is on How I met your mother, on CBS at the same time. Strange, eh?
