When I think of 1980 I think of all the really talented people who died that year like Alfred Hitchcock, John Lennon, Steve McQueen, John Bonham, and Bon Scott.

1980 was a great year for movies like Dressed To Kill, Raging Bull, The Empire Strikes Back, The Watcher in the Woods, and The Shining.

As far as I'm concerned personally, I was only a little four year old boy in 1980. I remember that spring my mom and I visited my grandparents in Arizona. What I remember most about that visit was that my grandma and grandpa lived next to this really nice lady who was really sick. She was actually dying of cancer. :( Of course, at four years old I didn't understand what cancer was or even that people could die. All I understood was that she didn't feel well. And I remember that she was really nice to me.

I do! It was the summer of 1984. I was 8 years old. The video they were playing was "Dancing in the Dark" by Bruce Springsteen. My parents never liked rock music so it was never played around the house. So seeing Bruce totally changed my life. I saved up enough money to go out and buy Born In The USA on record.

Yep, My friend Jen and I just got done playing Intellivision and we wanted to see what was on TV and we found it while we were channel surfing. I used to watch the Friday Night Street Party with Pauley Shore and Downtown Julie Brown. Pauley was always on the street outside clubs, while Julie was always inside the clubs. They played videos and did segments at the clubs all night every Friday. I believe it came on at 11pm and went off around 5am. I remember they wore the video to Jane Child's "I Don't Wanna Fall in Love" out when it came out around '89. Can't believe it been that long :lol:

It made me think of you because I know you work around there. The same thing happened here at the state capital in WV a couple weeks ago. They are working on the roof and a piece fell off but it didn't land near any people. It happened right outside my office :eek:

Yeah, I was outside and about four or five firetrucks raced by. We were all wondering what was going on and when I came home I saw that on the news.

It is now very chilly here in Illinois. We have our heat on today. Less then two weeks ago we had our air condition on, and now we have the heat on. That is midwestern weather for you.:lol:

i was born in 1980

1980, in my opinion, was a very bad year. John Lennon, the Beatle was shot down on December 8th of that year outside his apartment. And, me, being a Beatles fan, I feel it was a really bad year. But, maybe it was a better year for other people.

Definitley not one of the good parts of 1980.
