Joe Hackett - I loved his passion for airplanes. That passion carried the show and made him a guy who actually cared about his work. Not just another TV boss.

Brian Hackett - I loved his humor. No matter what the problem, he always made a joke - and a funny one, too!

Helen Chappel - I loved her desire to be happy. Whether that be in playing the cello or having the right man or whatever. She could also be hilarious.

Lowell Mather - To me, Lowell was cool. It wasn't "Fonzie" cool, but cool nonetheless. He was a mechanic, yet loved his job and took pride in it. He wasn't just another dumb guy, either. There was more to him than that.

Roy Biggins - Well, it's tougher with him. I loved the way he played off Lowell and Antonio. He was often mean to the characters, yet, he had to like them somewhat. I mean he did hang out with them outside of work sometimes.

Fay Evelyn Cochran - I loved how sweet and caring she was. Yet in the same sweet and caring tone of voice, she could change to sardonic or sarcastic or mean. She wasn't a mean woman at all. But she wasn't just some little old lady, either. Many times I didn't look at her as the old lady of the group. She fit right in with the others, no matter her age. I liked that about her.

I know there's more characters, but I only felt like doing the original cast for now. It's hard to think of things to say about Alex and Casey. And I'm kind of blanking on what to say about Antonio, even though I liked him.

What does everyone here think?

Joe Hackett - I loved his passion for airplanes too! That’s the first thing we have in common. Maybe I’ll sound crazy, but I love the analytic, compulsive, uptight Joe, and yet, he can be fun, crazy, and –sometimes- very silly. And passionate, another quality I love, a hot-blooded man. (Joe: you are *SO* my perfect match!)
Oh! I love the way he loves Helen.

Brian Hackett – He’s always with the best mood. He can view the world through rose-colored glasses, and in the hard times, he keeps walking with that sarcastic humor. A free spirit, with a huge fear of commitment and he has “a smile that lights up a room” (Antonio dixit)

Helen Chappel – She’s the best. Helen can be naïve and mean at the same time! She keeps her accent, and for me that means she never tried to be some other thing but she. The long friendship with the Hackett’s is sweet too.
In “Life could be a dream”, the only wish that came true was Helen’s one…

Lowell Mather – Lowell? He’s completely crazy! And I love that from him! I mean… c’mon! He used to go to a college where the graduation day all the students throw their tools to the air… and yet, he’s the mechanic of the airport and can fix everything. I don’t know if *naïve* is the right term… I think it might be…*innocent*. Funny like no other and doesn’t know he have that quality.

Roy Biggins – Evil and mean, but –apparently- love the gang and love to be part of it. Always giving the worst advices and trying to win against Sandpiper, deep (or not so deep) he’s a nice guy with a terrible mom.

Fay Evelyn Cochran – She looks like a sweet *sixtyish* lady… but behind that cute face, she’s terrible! Doesn’t care at all if the others want to hear or not the truth, she says it with any hesitations. She’s sarcastic, very sarcastic, and can be mean too. But Sandpiper is her life (after the three Georges, of course), and –in her own way- love a lot the Hackett’s and Helen.

Antonio Scarpacci – I feel kinda sorry for him. He seems to be a nice guy (weird, but nice). He went trough the 8 seasons trying to find the right woman and… what happened?! Or she had a BIG face or were married with some *crazy for donuts* man. Works like no other and his family’s memories are incredible. What I love from Antonio is that he’s always there when they need him. A true friend.

Alex Lambert – She has a lot of character (don’t know if is the right translation), she know what she wants and there she goes. She’s tough, and a lady too. And she was SO important in Brian’s life that he ended at the shrink.

Casey Chappel Davenport – She’s funny, and –even when she’s the older sister- Helen is more adult that her mostly of the times. She never accepted truly that her old way of life is end, so she could spend a lot of money just for a hair cut. Love how Brian and she fight all the time.

Joe Hackett: I've gotta say there's several things I like about Joe. Afterall, he was my favorite character out of all of them. One reason why he stuck out to me was I act a lot like him. I can be a joker, but when it comes down to it I'm very tight with my money, and I'm the worrier. I also like Joe because he has a sense of humor, he knows how to go after what he wants in life (Running Sandpiper is the greatest example, also going after Helen before she married Lynch), and he works hard. Just an awesome character all around!

Brian Hackett: I liked how he was go easy. When times were tough, he was still able to have a light mood, very seldom did we see him angry about anything. Sometimes I wish I could be more like Brian.

Helen Chappel Hackett:She -always- had a great comeback to people! She was so witty, so sarcastic, so smart ass. I love that! And her and Joe were perfect for eachother, she is my second favorite character on the show. Her determination didn't go unnoticed!

Lowell Mather:Oh goodness..Lowell is a riot! He's got the smarts to rebuild a plane engine, yet he lacked the common sense for everyday life! He had excellent one liners, and really could lighten the mood for people, not even meaning to. He was so innocent in a sense!

Roy Biggins: Yeah, you're right. He's a hard one. I guess how he was so good at mastermining over people....like Joe said, "He might be slime but he's got standards." hahah He's a love/hate kind of character, mainly hate for me though.

Fay Cochran: Hmm....she told it like it was! Sometimes honestly she got on my nerves, how she rambled on and on about her husbands, but she did have some great lines, and ways to put things.

Antonio Scarpacci:I feel so sorry for him! Always getting the bad luck, jinxying himself about something...and he was so witty also...Poor guy...liked him for sympathy.

Joe- I liked how he was a hard-working man who was deeply devoted to both his business and his friends.

Brian- He's wild and laid-back. No matter how serious the situation, he always manages a smile and a joke.

Helen- A strong, independent woman who took no crap from anyone, but was also positive and caring, not shrill and annoying. I think we need more female characters like her.

Lowell- Personally, I like him better in small doses, but the airport just wasn't the same without him. He's actually a lot smarter than the average TV stupid guy and can always be counted on in an emergency.

Fay- She didn't put up with rude, demanding customers! ;)

Roy- We all know that deep down, he was a softie. :lol:

Antonio- I like him a lot better in the earlier seasons. He had this innocense about him, but he wasn't a real idiot like Lowell could be at times. He was a sweet, caring guy who was always there for his friends. Too bad he was always so unlucky in life. That's probably what led him to develop severe mental problems, move to California, and start a new career as a homicide detective :lol: ;)

Casey- Ummm, let me get back to you... (Although she was nice to Antonio at times.)

Alex- She could be nice at times.

Carlton- Always had an interesting question. Or two. Or 25.

Bob- He knows how to get what he wants! :lol:

That's all I can think of for now, but overall, I liked how they were all different and had their different personalities and flaws, but they all loved and respected one another anyway.

Joe- Responsible, would cut loose occasionally, and seemed like a true friend. In his serious moments with Brian or like when Lowell wanted to leave, Daly just made him come across as a guy you wish you knew. "Any guy that would hurt you, would have to be a real jerk." "That's what you have to ask yourself...is this something I can live with?"

Brian- Only takes the important things seriously, my kind of guy.

Helen- Part girl-next-door, part headstrong woman. My dreamgirl basically!

Lowell- Though odd, a dependable guy, when you needed to borrow his houseboat or have something fixed, Lowell was there for you.

Fay- Grandmothering type who tried to make the foggy days fun and spoiled you if you needed a place to stay.

Roy- Definite "love to hate" type. In *my* world he would not be invited to Trivial Pursuit night and I wouldn't hesitate to tell him "NO!" to our fishing trip. To use a Roy line, "No, no, not even if I liked you, no."

Antonio- Endearing guy that you took pity on, wanted to be part of the gang or find love, so you take him under your wing. Unlike the guy who took him under the pier and....

Casey- Final season Casey was sweet enough. First-arriving Casey fortunately dropped the snobby, bitchy princess attitude shortly thereafter.

Alex- Well, being a guy, the only lasting quality I found in Alex was that she was hot.

Sandy Cooper - Knew how to control her insanity at the right times :eek:

Bud Bronsky - Fixing things and uh....

Kenny McCalvey - Well, he was eager to please...
