I was trying to remimber the one unsolved mysteries show that talked about a guy that was in a famous band in the 60's or 70's that became a scientest and disappeared in the desert. all they found was his mini van. can anyone help?

he was in the band called iron butterfly that sang "inagadadavida" i think they found his body in his van at the bottom of a mountainous revine,he was depressed andkilledhimself,i think
