I wonder why he never came out with any solo albums. He has a song called Just A Heartbeat Away that came out in 1986 i believe. It came out after he left the Dazz Band but he never came out with a album for the song. The song is very nice. I asked him about it on his website & he told me he never came out with a album for the song. He said the song was only played on the radio. He's right about that because i heard the song on the radio. It's a shame that some groups don't know when to quit when lead singers leave them such as Dazz Band, Kool & The Gang, The Commodores. Dazz Band should've gave up when Skip left them.

He did leave the Dazz Band for Kool & The Gang to replace James Taylor. You see Kool & The Gang didn't have any success when he joined them LOL. Skip is a good singer but he's not better than James.

Okay. I have my dad's Kool & the Gang tape with Skip Martin. The only song I could get into is "Raindrops". I dunno know why, I don't think K&TG was a good fit for him. *scratches head*
