The first time I heard it, I thought it was okay, but it's growing on me.

it's alright, it's definately the most No Doubt-ish song on L.A.M.B. Does this mean Bubble Pop Electric will be the next single since she keeps releasing singles in the order they appear on the album?

I think Gwen released the best pop album of the past 12 months. I know a lot of people are saying Mimi is, but I think Gwen's album is more diverse.

I like it cause it's more true to the No Doubt sound than the hip-hop style of songs shes been releasing

I love it! It's definitely my favorite track on her CD. It is such a happy tune, and with a very 80s-inspired pop hook that makes me want to sing along... :)

I totally agree about the last part there. I don't personally have LAMB, but I love all of the singles that have come from it so far. Hollaback is my favorite, with Rich Girl and Cool right behind.

I agree. I think Gwen expressed herself on this album. I think she shows more of her personality without ND backing her up.

I love the song "Cool". I think it's the best song on the album. I also like "Rich Girl" and "What Are You Waiting For".

I got tired of "Cool" even before it became a single, and I think other people feel the same way. That's probably the reason why it ins't performing as well as her other singles.

She needs to release "Danger Zone."

"Cool" is okay, but not nearly as good as "Holla Back Girl". I really hope her next single is either "Bubble Pop Electric" or "Luxurious" because I love those 2...

I think she purposely made the fourth single more ND sounding after 2 r&b sounding songs in a way of expressing "guys, I am NOT going J. Lo on you". Because she remembers the backlash after J. Lo released one song with a rapper (I'm Real) and then released 6 more with a rapper back to back to back... Gwen knows she'd never recover from the fallout

well I dont know about that, she's doing a song with Pharrell and Diddy called "Can I Have It Like That"....maybe she's trying not do have too many rnb sounding songs, but her rnb sounding songs are doing better than her non rnb sounding songs, so obviously a lot of people must not have too much of a problem with the more rnb sounding songs lol

well, the difference between Gwen and Mariah/J. Lo is that Gwen never had an "urban" audience before LAMB. If she totally ditched all traces of pop, rock and new wave in her music, it would be career suicide because her urban market isn't big enough to sustain a career on. Remember that Rich Girl and Hollaback Girl did not score anywhere as well on R&B stations as they did POP station.

Plus, Gwen is HAVING FUN with r&b/hip hop. Unlike Mariah and J. Lo, Gwen realizes she is an outsider and that she will never "belong", but she'll have fun experimenting with other genres. I highly doubt you'll ever see Gwen actually consider herself a "real hip hop artist" the way Mariah and J. Lo try to do. Gwen realizes that pop, rock and alternative are the bread and butter for her and she'll never especially turn her back on those fanbases because she gained a new one. Gwen realizes variety is the spice of life. Mariah and J. Lo forgot other genres when they realized they could make a killing using guest rappers.

Well then we agree. I just dont like it when people complain about Gwen experimenting with hip hop sounding music, because hip hop music is "of the devil." I think Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez have always been somewhat r&b, and I dont mind when they work with rappers, but I do think that always having rappers coming in to liven up a song is uncreative...

the reason I lost interest in Mariah and J. Lo after working with rappers is because suddenly EVERY song had to have a hip hop remix if it didn't have a rapper in it before. Mariah remixed We Belong Together and threw a rapper in, etc... Mariah forgets there are those of us who loved her first album, where she did r&b, pop, Adult Contemporary and dance music... and she did it all on her own with no guest stars. When you consider her first album did 9 million and Music Box (another cd that was collaboration-free) did 10 million, you'd figure Mariah would get the point that while she might like working with rappers, the fans would also like to hear r&b, pop, AC and dance music on her own without any special guests.

This is true, but music and what becomes popular now is a lot different than the music that was popular 13 years ago. I think they recognize that, and that is the reason they do remixes. It's just a new generation she's trying to appeal to. I think she's doing a good job of appealing to her old audience as well though. We Belong Together was a song that could appeal to old and new imo...

I'd like to see Mariah do an uptempo dance-number with zero hip hop appeal like something Kylie Minogue or Madonna does (a lot of Mariah's fans are always critical of Madonna, but I personally love the diversity in her music and I'm a much bigger fan of hers than Mariah). Granted, most of her songs get club dance remixes, but I'd like to hear a song like Prisoner updated to 2005 era dance-pop in the original version.

I actually like Mariah's music a lot... it's the "lambs" (her hardcore fanatics) I can't stand. No artist deserves the Jesus Christ-like adoration they bestow upon Mariah. Some of them would choose Mariah over their own mother, and that's just wrong, LOL.

o0o, haha I got in a fight on HERE with a "lamb", so trust me, I know. The "lambs" are going after Madonna now because Madonna during the Live 8 concert is reported as not wanting to be anywhere near Mariah. Now they're on a campaign to make Madonna's next album not sell.

why do diva fans forget that this is not sports? Whether it's Mariah, Madonna, Janet, Celine, Whitney, Kylie (remember she is huge overseas) or whoever else, there's a select hardcore group of fans of each artist who wants the rest to die. It's kinda sad, neglecting to even give "rival" artists a chance might deprive people of music they might actually like. There are songs I love and songs I can't stand by all those artists. I highly doubt that Mariah and Madonna are thinking "god, I hate (the other artist), I'm going to do a new cd and kick their ass", I think pretty much every major female artist is content with their own skin and don't care about comparisons as badly as the die-hard fans have.

I think Mariah and Michael Jackson have the worst die-hard fans, at least looking on the AOL boards. Seriously, I remember someone was comparing Mariah's We Belong Together and Pat Benatar's We Belong, and some dope lamb said "I don't know who Pat Benatar is, but since she's not Mariah, she sucks". LOL, how perceptive.

haha, I just cannot believe that some Mariah fans would actually have an organized EFFORT to try to make Madonna's album sink. It's really quite funny :p I doubt Madonna and Mariah are losing sleep over one another.

exactly. I am so sure Madonna prays every night that "please let me have 5 #1 songs on the next album so I can knock Mariah back from the most #1's for a female artist". I doubt she cares, but yet the fans lose sleep over it, lol.

One thing that DOES annoy me about rap artists, are the rivalries. Not so much the rivalries themselves, real ones interest me for some reason lol, but the fact that they always seem to come whenever someone is about to release an album lol. Manufactured rivalries are just so lame, and usually obvious. 50 Cent's album is about to come out, and he is trying to make a rivalry with Kanye West. I just want to tell some of them to shut up, lol

I think artists who bash each other is very disrespectful to the FANS. They forget that a lot of fans might like some of the other artists too. Like when Eminem went on tirants against other artists, why did he think that maybe he didn't have fans who also liked Moby, NSync, Will Smith or who else.

haha I cant take the rivals Eminem makes seriously, they're all just funny. Eminem was 30 something and he was making fun of people like Britney who was 19 at the time because he knew she wouldnt do anything. The only people Eminem mocks are people like Moby and NSync...You never see him mock other rappers lol, and if he does its someone like Will Smith? Big deal, Eminem lol

I always thought Moby could've gone after Eminem for slander. Eminem killed Moby's career the way Beavis And Butt-Head killed a lot of the hair metal bands. I remember his album in 2002 came out with a lot of hype and debuted well and "We Are All Made Of Stars" got a ton of airplay, but then Eminem came out bashing Moby and his album plunged down the charts and then his followup album didn't even make the top 30. All because Eminem had to be an ******* and pick on Moby and his genre of music.

I've never understood why everyone likes Eminem so much. Yeah he's a white and raps which is a 1st, and some of his videos can be funny, but who cares? I like a lot of Moby's songs, "We Are All Made of Stars" "Southside" "Natural Blues" and a few other songs...I generally like New Agey type music lol

the Moby thing really showed the type of schoolyard bully Eminem really is. All Moby did was say he wasn't fond of homophobic and misogynistic lyrics, and Eminem started on him. I mean, Moby is the type of person whose really introverted and pacifistic, he wouldn't swat a fly, but Eminem just had to be an ******* towards him.

Yeah I know. Kanye West said he's not fond of homophobic lyrics, I doubt we'll see Eminem attack him. He made fun of Moby because he likes to go after people who he doesnt think can go after him as hard.

I'm not a big Tori fan, but a few years ago, she actually remade one of Eminem's more misogynistic numbers ("97 Bonnie And Clyde", one of his "kill my ex wife" tunes) on her "Strange Little Girls" album, she really made the number haunting.
