During the title theme of Season 1, there is a flashing lightning bolt in the backround. But, it stops after episode 28. Episode 29 and to the end of the series, there is no more flashing lightning bolt during the title theme.

Everything was spookier earlier in the series. After a while the amount of cobwebs started to dwindle down, too. And didn't the rooms start to look brightly lit in the later episodes? Got rather cheery, for good or bad.

The show was taken away from an "Addams Family" type of scenario, and turned into an "Abbott & Costello" type of scenario.

The proof of that, is the broad comedy the show started to receive during the end of it's second season. Some examples are, Herman's booming laugh, Grandpa's wild experiments, Herman racing and crashing a go-cart, Herman being transformed into a normal man, then later turned into a woman, Lily punching Herman and throwing him over the sofa.

The show changed significantly, but was still very funny.
