I haven't really gotten time....I tried to the other day with my Dad but he just laughed.

Your parents should have some control of your life, well they should have a lot I guess, but not ENTIRE control, which it seems they do.

I'm not sure if he was trying to be rude or not but we were talking about how talking online can be better than talking in person because no one can see what you look like online so they can't judge you on your looks.....then I asked him if I could go on Sitcoms Online and he just laughed.

You know what you should bring up when explaining your "trust" situation to your parents? Tell them to quiz you on proper online netiquettes. Like, what should you do if there is someone whom you do not trust who IMs you. This will let them know you are responsible and level-headed on telling your parents you ARE capable of handling tough situations. Try it.

Hey, I'm sorry you're not allowed to be on this site anymore. I know what you're going through, not being trusted at all. But I think the reason they don't trust you is because you're at the age, like me, where parents are questioning their trust with us. Just the other day I was going to the movies and my dad thought I was going to sneak out of the movies and start walking uptown - which I don't do that. The only thing I can tell you to do is try and get them to trust you. Right now you just have to make sure not to lie to them. I hope everything works out. :)

You're posting a lot more than someone who is not allowed on here. Just an observation..

I sure am glad that my parents have completely trusted me when it comes to my computer. They even let me have it in my room. :D

Yes, I missed you too, Niki. I wondered where you'd been. I can sort of understand your parents' point of view, but Sitcoms Online really is a harmless place. Do your parents find the Internet as a whole an alien environment? Some people can be suspicious and mistrustful of things that they don't know much about, or that are strange to them.

Of course, they've undoubtedly heard stories about people meeting strangers over the Internet and it all ending terribly, which wouldn't help matters. I wish there was some way you could prove to them that this is a safe online environment. Your parents are probably just worried about you, but in the case of this place, I don't think there's any need for concern.

If your parents could see some of the intelligent, helpful things people have posted on here, they might change their minds, but since it doesn't seem like you'd be able to get them to come on here again...it might be worth a try you writing some of them down and showing them to your parents, but then they'd know you'd been on here again.

Maybe the best thing to do is to not mention it. You could still try to come here at times, but maybe you should just keep quiet about Sitcoms Online to your parents, and hopefully, maybe they'll forget about it?

After all, you have your computer in your bedroom, don't you? I don't know what your house is like, but I assume when you're in your bedroom, you've got a fair amount of privacy? You could come on then, although you'd have to be careful that nobody catches you.

Normally, I wouldn't encourage you to go against your parents' wishes, but in this case, I think you should be allowed to come here. I can see why they're worried, but I think their fears are misplaced.
