View Full Version : A funny James and Sweet Daddy interaction
GARFIELDKOOL 09-02-2005, 06:49 PM In episode "Sweet Daddy on season 3, I was trippin' when James tried to explain to Sweet Daddy that he didn't want that refridgerator! James kept saying about that refrigerator....and Sweet Daddy kept cutting him off saying, "Cool pops!" I think he tried to explain 3 times, but it was real funny on the last attempt. James look like he wanted to explode and Sweet Daddy just cut him off like it wasn't nothing. Anybody saw that scene?
Jrnygrl 09-02-2005, 08:35 PM Yeah when James told him to get that over sized beer cooler out of there. But the funniest was when he called Savanna a skank, that was hilarious.

JeffRuss1972 09-02-2005, 08:40 PM THAT episode had a lot of good JAMES EVANS moments.
Brian Damage 09-02-2005, 10:23 PM It sounds like a really good episode. I've seen every episode of GT, but some of them I haven't seen in years and this is one of them.
ikhuri 09-02-2005, 11:11 PM I thought it was funny when Savanna said to JJ, "You ought to know a lady when you see one" and James replied, "Well, when he sees one, he'll paint one".

That was the first time I had ever heard the word. I didn't know what it meant until years later. When I seen this episode in a rerun a couple of years ago, I was thrown back because I had forgotten he said that word and when he said it, it seemed like "whoa" because it's a word that is still in use today. Not like "honkey" which you rarely hear.

It almost didn't sound like it was in the script. I forget the name of the actress, but I remember her in Eddie Murphy's movie Boomerang. She plays the mother of Eddie's friend, and the father was at the dinner table going "BANG BANG BANG" (referring to sex)....lol.
GARFIELDKOOL 09-03-2005, 09:01 AM I did wanted to see Florida and Savannah go at it. It looked like they were about to scuffle when Sweet Daddy pulled her back. That was a great Florida moment. Getting in a woman's face who was disrespecting her son in their house.
BTW, Savannah is still acting. I've seen her in numerous roles. If anyone seen "FridayAfter Next" she played the landlady.
JeffRuss1972 09-03-2005, 12:56 PM I SWEAR John Amos was ad-libbing when he yelled "Skank" to her as she walked out the door. Seemed everyone was a little surprised.

Wasn't she on Different World too? Mrs. Gaines?

Oh hell yeah, I swear, it seems like it was!!!! Maybe cuz the camera wasn't on James when he said it, that may be the reason it sounds ad-libbed. I also think, not sure, but wasn't that word muffled at one time in syndication?
isiahthomas 09-06-2005, 10:11 AM She was Mrs. Gaines on A Different World. John Weatherspoon who was her husband in Boomerang movie, has he played on Good Times before? He had me rollin in Boomerang when he said bang bang bang LOL.
isiahthomas 09-06-2005, 10:13 AM I saw her in Friday After Next movie too. She was John Weatherspoon's wife in House Party movie too. John had me rollin in House Party when he said he was gonna call the cops on Kid & Play because the noise they was making at the party. He said they over there listening to Public Enema hahahahahaha. They're Public Enemy, not Public Enema LOL.
themaninblack 09-07-2005, 11:37 PM i can never forget when james says, "those could have been..SWEET DADDY's DRAWZ!" :)
Ireneparalegal 09-08-2005, 12:40 AM I don't blame Sweet Daddy's lady (skank) for being upset at the portrait, DAMN!!!! JJ painted her just like she looks...FUGLY!!!!!!!
