In order to show OPEC that we don't like the price gouging that is going on, it has been suggested that we as consumers protest by not buying any gasoline on Sunday.

Its time we stood up people!!! Filler up now and conserve!!!!!

FIGHT BACK!!!!!! :soapbox: :soapbox: peacesign:

they won't listen, they'll always find an excuse to gouge us.

I'm sorry, but jacking up the prices after Katrina makes me sick!!! They should not take advantage of a tragedy to make monetary gain.

It won't work, it would only make things worse.

don't worry, I won't buy gas on Sunday, I just have a feeling that they will never get the message we're tired of being jerked around.

All that's gonna do is hurt station owners. I mean, I'm all for a protest, but all this is gonna do is hurt gas station owners. They have to buy the gas somehow and they have to pay their bills.

Except the gougers...they deserve to lose their shirts.

haha.

i don't know exactly why the prices are rising, but if it's necessary and not just a case of the companies wanting more money, then boycotting it would just be throwing a huge tantrum. it'll never work anyway and it doesn't make any sense.

I agree with you.. We had alot of other Hurricanes and they never done this to gas.. But Katrina is the worst out of all of them I guess.. But they shouldnt raise gas every 2 hrs it's dumb! Gas where i am now is 3.30 when i went past it this morning .. Im curious on what its gonna be when i get home tonight ..

Oh, I know. I was going to fill up this morning, but, all the pumps were being used. I need to go tonight though.

I totally agree with you about raising the price every two hours.

I'm afraid of what it'll be when I get home. It's probably about 3.30 by me too.

it would suck to be the person at the gas station who has to change the numbers on the sign. somebody might do something crazy to them.

This 10 cent raise everyday is getting ridiculous, but I'm putting all the blame on the government. They don't give a rat's ass about us common folk who have to pay for this damn gas.

How do they change the prices. I can see the pumps but how do they do the big signs? Does some one get a tall ladder and crawl up there or do they have a long stick with sort of magnetic holder?

The latter. They have this really long pole with a magnet or suction cup on the end and they swap numbers like that. Though there's a station here that has a sign that has to been 200+ feet tall. No idea how they change that one.
