I drove with the e-brake accidentally with my '70 Cadillac Sedan de Ville.
It's supposed to automatically release when it's put in "Drive," but it didn't fully release.
Nothing happened; didn't hurt a thing. I could smell the burned brake, but nothing else happened.

Hm, can't say I've ever driven with the E break on... I just usually get out of the car and forget to turn it off.

I thought this was going to be some deep article about driving with the E-break on, as in "email" or something...

anyway, i've done that before but it didn't mess my car up

I have had problems in the past with putting on the lights when it is foggy or rainy. Spent the day at work and out I come to start the car and it won't go. I think new cars have a shut off function.
