View Full Version : My sister was in a wreck yesterday!
Ags2000 08-31-2005, 04:04 PM My sister walked away from a crash yesterday that she shouldn't have survived.
There was a line of 18 wheelers trying to cross the road in front of her. The first one went no problem and then the 2nd one pulled out infront of my sister who was probably going around 70. My sister couldn't stop in time. She slammed on her breaks (her anti-lock brakes didn't work) and turned the wheel to the right so she wouldn't go under the 18 wheeler. At the last second, her car finally responded and turned slightly so it wasn't a straight head on t-bone. She punctured his gas tank (which thankfully didn't explode). Oh, and her air bags did not deploy. SHe walked away from the wreck a bit shakey.
She has a bruise on her shoulder and across her stomach from the seat belt, and her arm is starting to hurt today...but she walked away from her car being totaled.
Talk about freaking out when we got that phone call. I went to my sister's that night to see for myself that she was fine and didn't get home tell LATE last night.
I'm just glad she's alive today!

Thanks guys, you have NO idea how freaked out I was when I heard it was a freaking semi that pulled out infront of her that she hit. I still can't believe she walked away from it.

Hollow 08-31-2005, 06:23 PM yeah, i'm glad she's ok. in my friend's accident they were hit by a semi and her sisters lived because they WEREN'T wearing seatbelts, otherwise the semi would have crushed them, but she was thrown out of the car and killed, saving her four-month-old neice. so i don't know whether wearing a seatbelt would have saved her life or if she was just screwed and would have had to choose between her own life and her niece's regardlessly. but hell, the fact that she chose her niece's makes it a somewhat happy ending.

He admitted it was he fault. He told the cops he never saw her...aka he never looked. I know he received several tickets at the scene but no idea what.
Now that a couple of days has passed, she has become very sore. Her right arm has started hurting her pretty bad so I went with her to the doctor today. They took some x-rays and we are now waiting on the results. They think she has a hairline fracture up near her elbow. All in all, if that is the worst injury, we are glad.
She also talked with the business's insurance and filed a claim for her car and medical bills. So now we are waiting on hearing about the claim as well as if she broke her arm.

Yeah, I've been in a couple of wrecks, but not that bad.
I appreciate everyone's concern.
