Some of this has to do with MF, some of it doesn't...Hence the subject line. ;)

On Saturday, I went to see Vicki Lawrence do "The Two Woman Show" -- she was performing at a casino less than an hour away from me, so I went there. It was my 3rd time seeing her, BTW -- as usual, she was awesome! :D Her monologue as Vicki was basically the same, but Mama had a lot of new material in her monologue. As usual, Mama had the audience in stitches -- there were some parts that had me LMAOing really hard, like when she was talking about Donald Trump's hair.

There's a bit in her show (as Mama) where she yells for somebody to come out so Garrett Schultz (Vicki's son) comes out, and she asks Garrett to go get her some beer. They start arguing with her about how she can't drink beer & give a show at the same time. And we all know how Mama is -- she won't take no for an answer, so she wins and Garrett has to go backstage to fetch her some beer. Mama goes on giving her show, and 5 minutes later, Garrett comes out with a bottle of beer for Mama. Mama gets pissed off when she sees the bottle of beer is nearly empty, and then they get into an argument over the beer. She'll ask why Garrett brought her a bottle of beer that was nearly empty and he explains that the line was really long and that he got bored/thirsty, so he had some of the beer. Mama yells at Garrett some more and then Garrett leaves, rubbing his behind with one hand and the bottle of beer that Mama didn't accept. That part is always a classic and always reminds me of MF when she does that!

After the show, I was waiting around to see if I would have any luck with meeting Vicki...but I didn't have any luck. I did, however, get to meet Garrett. If you have ever seen pictures of Vicki's husband Al (Garrett's father), you would agree that Garrett has a VERY strong resemblence to his father. Garrett was just great and very laid-back. When we were talking to him, he mentioned Al was backstage somewhere but unfortunately we didn't get to meet him. :( It would have been even more neat if it had happened. I did get to have two pics taken with Garrett.

That was the best show I've been to since I saw her in '03. The last time I saw her in '04, it wasn't as fun...she had to tone down her material which is not easy to do when you are playing at an international family-friendly Scandinavian festival for an audience of 10,000 people.

I still think it's great you got to meet Garrett. I wish I would have thought of taking a pic with him when I went...He was standing just behind me! Oh well. Maybe there'll be a next time. :D

You betcha I will! I can't post 'em right now, as I'm at school... my pictures are on my computer at home. :)

He's pretty tall and pretty good-looking! (to me, anyway) It's amazing how much he looks like his dad Al!
